2026 Winter Paralympics
The 2026 Winter Paralympics ( it, Giochi paralimpici invernali del 2026), officially known as the XIV Paralympic Winter Games, and commonly known as Milano-Cortina 2026, is an international winter multi-sport event for disabled athletes that is scheduled to take place in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, from 6 to 15 March 2026. The election was held on 24 June 2019 at the 134th IOC Session in Lausanne, Switzerland, home of the IOC headquarters. Milan-Cortina were elected as hosts, defeating Stockholm-Åre. This will be the third Paralympic Games hosted in Italy and will mark the 20th anniversary of the 2006 Winter Paralympics in Turin. Stadio Olimpico Del Ghiaccio
Stadio Olimpico del Ghiaccio ( en, Olympic Ice Stadium) was built between 1952 and 1954, primarily as an open air Figure skating arena in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, to hold between seven and eight thousand spectators, with the possibility of making temporary arrangements to accommodate twelve to fifteen thousand for the period of the Olympics. The venue was inaugurated on 26 October 1955. During the 1956 Winter Olympics, the arena held the opening and closing ceremonies, the figure skating events and select ice hockey games. Sometime after 1981, a roof was added to the structure. The stadium will host curling in the 2026 Winter Olympics and it will also host wheelchair curling in the 2026 Winter Paralympics. The Lago di Tésero Cross Country Stadium (in italian: ''Stadio del fondo di Lago di Tesero'') is a sport venue located in the village of Lago, in the municipality of Tésero (Fiemme Valley), in Trentino, northern Italy. The Allianz Cloud Arena, formerly known as PalaLido, is a multi-purpose indoor arena that is located in the Italy, Italian city of Milan, capital of Lombardy. The arena's primary use is to host basketball and volleyball games, but it can also be used to host handball, tennis, gymnastics, and wrestling. Tésero (''Tiézer'' in local dialect) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in Trentino in the northern Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located in the Val di Fiemme about northeast of Trento. The municipality of Tesero contains the ''frazioni'' (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Lago, Stava and Alpe di Pampeago.
