2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix
The 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship is a planned motor racing championship for Formula One cars which will be the 76th running of the Formula One World Championship. It is recognised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the governing body of international motorsport, as the highest class of competition for open-wheel racing cars. The championship will be contested over twenty-four Grands Prix held around the world. It is scheduled to begin in March and end in December. The 2025 season is planned to be the last year to utilise the power unit configuration introduced in 2014. A revised configuration without MGU-H but with a higher power output from the MGU-K will be introduced for the 2026 championship. Drivers and teams are scheduled to compete for the titles of World Drivers' Champion and World Constructors' Champion respectively. Formula One Engines
Since its inception in 1947, Formula One has used a variety of engine regulations. "Formulae" limiting engine capacity had been used in Grand Prix racing on a regular basis since after World War I. The engine formulae are divided according to era. Operation Formula One currently uses 1.6 litre four-stroke turbocharged 90 degree V6 double-overhead camshaft (DOHC) reciprocating engines. They were introduced in 2014 and have been developed over the subsequent seasons. The power a Formula One engine produces is generated by operating at a very high rotational speed, up to 20,000 revolutions per minute (rpm). However, they are electronically limited to 15,000 as of 2021 season. This contrasts with road car engines of a similar size, which typically operate at less than 6,000 rpm.
