2024–25 Winthrop Eagles Men's Basketball Team
The 2024–25 Winthrop Eagles men's basketball team represented Winthrop University during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Eagles, led by fourth-year head coach Mark Prosser, played their home games at the Winthrop Coliseum in Rock Hill, South Carolina as members of the Big South Conference. Previous season The Eagles finished the 2023–24 season 17–15, 8–8 in Big South play to finish in fourth place. They were defeated by eventual tournament champions Longwood in the quarterfinals of the Big South tournament. Mark Prosser
Mark Prosser (born October 10, 1978) is an American college basketball coach and current head coach of the Winthrop Eagles men's basketball team. Playing career Prosser played one season of basketball at Marist before injuries stopped a playing career. He continued on with the Red Foxes as a student assistant coach until his graduation in 2002. Coaching career Coaching beginnings After graduation, Prosser landed his first assistant coaching position at Wofford under Mike Young, where he stayed for one season before heading to Bucknell for a five-year stint as an assistant for Pat Flannery, where he was part of the Bison staff when the team upset Kansas during the 2005 NCAA tournament. Prosser returned to Wofford in 2008 where he stayed until 2011 when he accepted the head coaching job at Division II Brevard College. In one season at Brevard, Prosser recorded a 5-23 record, and subsequently resigned his position to accept a coaching position under Pat Kelsey at Winthrop. ... Concord Academy, formerly named Concord First Assembly Academy (CFA Academy, styled as "cfa Academy") and First Assembly Christian School, is a private college preparatory Christian school in Concord, North Carolina. Austell, Georgia
Austell is a city in Cobb County in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 7,713. The Lamar Cardinals basketball team represents Lamar University in NCAA Division I men's basketball competition. The Cardinals currently play in the Southland Conference following a return from the Western Athletic Conference on July 11, 2022. They were one of four programs, all from Texas, that left the Southland Conference on July 1, 2021, to join the Western Athletic Conference (WAC).
