2024–25 High Point Panthers Men's Basketball Team
The 2024–25 High Point Panthers men's basketball team represented High Point University during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Panthers, led by second-year head coach Alan Huss, play their home games at the Qubein Center in High Point, North Carolina as members of the Big South Conference. As the No. 1 seed in the Big South tournament, the Panthers defeated Gardner–Webb, Radford, and Winthrop to win the tournament championship, overcoming a 15-point deficit in the final game. As a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, the school's first-ever trip to the tournament. As a No. 13 seed in the Midwest regional of the tournament, they were defeated by No. 4-seeded Purdue in the first round. Alan Huss
Alan Huss (born January 15, 1979) is an American basketball coach who is currently an assistant coach for the Creighton Bluejays men's basketball team. He previously served as head coach at High Point from 2023 to 2025. Playing career Huss played for North Kansas City High School where he averaged 26 points and 12 rebounds per game his senior year. Huss then played college basketball at Creighton under Dana Altman from 1997 to 2001 where he was teammates with Kyle Korver and part of three NCAA tournament teams. He played in 94 games over the four years averaging 3.2 points per game. Coaching career High school and assistant coaching Huss entered coaching at the high school ranks in 2004, working his way up to becoming the head coach at Culver Military Academy in 2007 before moving on to La Lumiere School. 2024 Big South Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2024 Big South men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament that ended the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season of the Big South Conference. It was held from March 6–10 and played at the Qubein Center. The tournament winner, Longwood, received the automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA tournament. The 2023–24 Seattle Redhawks men's basketball team represented Seattle University in the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by third-year head coach Chris Victor and played their games on campus at the Redhawk Center and off campus at Climate Pledge Arena. The College Basketball Invitational (CBI) is a men's college basketball tournament created in 2007 by The Gazelle Group. The inaugural tournament occurred after the conclusion of the 2007–08 men's college basketball regular season. The CBI selects sixteen teams that are not selected for the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament or the National Invitation Tournament (NIT), and who are willing to pay a $27,500 entry fee to participate. The 2024 College Basketball Invitational (CBI) was a single-elimination, fully-bracketed men's college basketball postseason tournament featuring 15 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I teams not selected to participate in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament or the National Invitation Tournament (NIT).
