2024–25 Derby County F.C. Season
The 2024–25 season is Derby County's 126th season in the Football League and their 55th in the second tier of English football. It is their first season in the Championship since 2022 following their promotion as runners-up in League One in the previous campaign. They also competed in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup. Review Pre-season 1 July saw the start of pre-season for the 2024–25 campaign, with the players returning to training after the summer break. As 30 June had seen the final day of a number of players contracts, 1 July also saw the official departure of Dwight Gayle, Conor Hourihane, Scott Loach, Korey Smith, Martyn Waghorn, and Joe Wildsmith from the first team as had been announced via the release of the club's retained list six-weeks previously. Derby County F
Derby ( ) is a city and unitary authority area on the River Derwent in Derbyshire, England. Derbyshire is named after Derby, which was its original county town. Corey Blackett-Taylor
Corey Josiah Paul Blackett-Taylor (born 23 September 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays for club Derby County. Blackett-Taylor started his career at Aston Villa where he graduated into the first team making his debut in March 2017. In March 2019, he would join Walsall on loan. Louie Joseph Sibley (born 13 September 2001) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for side Rotherham United on loan from club Oxford United. Sibley joined Derby County's academy in 2010, making his first-team debut in December 2019, after he was a part of the club's U18 Premier League championship in 2018–19. Joseph Charles Wildsmith (born 28 December 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for EFL Championship club West Bromwich Albion. Martyn Thomas Waghorn (born 23 January 1990) is an English former professional footballer who played as a forward. He is a former England under-21 international. Scott James Loach (born 27 May 1988) is an English former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Loach played for Ipswich Town, Watford and Hartlepool United. Dwight Devon Boyd Gayle (born 17 October 1989) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker. Gayle played in the Arsenal academy as a youth, but was released in 2007, after which he began his career with Ryan of the Essex Olympian Football League. EFL League One
The English Football League One, known as Sky Bet League One for sponsorship reasons, or simply League One, is a professional association football league in England.
