2024–25 Cupa României
The 2024–25 Cupa României was the 87th season of the annual Romanian Association football, football cup competition. It is sponsored by Betano and known as the Cupa României Betano for sponsorship purposes. The winner will qualify for the first qualifying round of the 2025–26 UEFA Europa League, 2025–26 edition of the UEFA Europa League. The main competition will face all teams from Liga I through Liga III, which will be joined by 7 play-off winners from Liga IV. Schedule The schedule for this season of Cupa României was released on June 28. Regional stage Finals The finals of the regional stage were played on July 20. National stage First round With the exception of CSM Pașcani's match, all other matches were played on July 31. CS Corvinul Hunedoara
Asociaţia Club Sportiv FC Corvinul Hunedoara 1921 (), commonly known as Corvinul Hunedoara or simply Corvinul, is a Romanian professional Football (soccer), football club based in the city of Hunedoara, Hunedoara County, that competes in the Liga II. Founded in 1921 as ''Fero Sport Hunedoara'', the club bore various names over time, but stuck with Corvinul, inspired by the history of the Hunyadi family () and the local Corvin Castle. Under this name, the team achieved its best performances during the 1980s, when it was a constant appearance in the Liga I, top flight. Between 1979 and 1982, Corvinul was coached by Mircea Lucescu, who would go on to become one of the most successful Romanian managers. Following the Romanian Revolution, fall of communism, Corvinul relegated to the Liga II, Divizia B in 1992 and have not yet returned to the top flight. 2024–25 Liga I
The 2024–25 Liga I, known officially as the SuperLiga Romania, was the 107th season of Liga I, the top football league in Romania. The season will start on 12 July 2024. The newcomers were Unirea Slobozia, who made their debut in Liga I, and FC Gloria Buzău, Gloria Buzău who returned to Liga I after a 15-year absence. The draw took place on 1 July 2024. Teams Promotion and relegation (pre-season) The league consists of 16 teams: 14 teams from 2023–24 Liga I and two teams promoted from 2023–24 Liga II. Teams promoted from the Liga II The first club to be promoted was Unirea Slobozia, they made their debut in Liga 1. Clubul Sportiv Viitorul Minerul Lupeni, commonly referred to as Minerul Lupeni, is a Romanian football club based in Lupeni, Hunedoara County, which competes in Liga III , the third tier of the Romanian football league system. Established in 1920 as ''Jiul Lupeni'', the club changed its name several times to ''Partizanul (1950), Flacăra (1951), Minerul (1953 and 1957) and Energia (1956)''. Dissolved in 2010, the club from Jiu Valley was re-founded as Viitorul Minerul Lupeni in 2021. History The team of miners from the Lupeni coal basin was founded in 1920 as Jiul Lupeni. In 1926, the club merger for a short time with CAMP playing under the name of Jiul Lupeni. Pogăceaua
Pogăceaua ( ) is a commune in Mureș County, Transylvania, Romania composed of ten villages: Bologaia (''Balogéja''), Ciulea (''Csulja''), Deleni (''Ökröstó''), Fântâna Babii, Pârâu Crucii, Pogăceaua, Scurta, Sicele, Valea Sânpetrului, and Văleni. The commune lies in the Transylvanian Plain, on the banks of the river Șes and its left tributary, Bologa. It is located in the western part of the county, northwest of the county seat, Târgu Mureș. As of the 2011 census, Pogăceaua had a population of 2,117, of which 82.2% were Romanians, 15.1% Roma, and 1.3% Hungarians. At the 2021 census, the commune had a population of 1,890; of those, 76.51% were Romanians and 16.61% Roma. Viitorul Sântimbru
''Viitorul'' ("The Future") was a daily newspaper published in the Kingdom of Romania, out of Bucharest, as a central organ of the National Liberal Party (PNL). It was formed just months after peasants' revolt of March 1907, being originally linked to the more left-wing, social-minded, factions within Romanian liberalism. Its reformism openly challenged the Conservative Party; its embrace of Romanian nationalism and its promise to enact an extensive land reform made it an ally of the Poporanists, some of whom became ''Viitorul'' contributors. The journal championed the cause of unity between Romanians across political borders, being particularly interested in those of Transylvania and Austria-Hungary at large.
