2024 Winter Cup
The 2024 Winter Cup, known officially as the Kentucky Winter Classic, was an artistic gymnastics competition held at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky, on February 23–25, 2024. As in recent years, the competition included men's and women's gymnastics. Background The event was held in Louisville, which had hosted the previous Winter Cup. Three-time Olympic champion Gabby Douglas, who had last competed eight years earlier at the 2016 Olympic Games, announced she would make her competitive comeback at the 2024 Winter Cup; she later withdrew after testing positive for COVID-19. The Winter Cup is an annual winter gymnastics meet for elite artistic gymnasts of the United States. History The first edition of the Winter Cup was held in 1997 and was initially a men's artistic gymnastics competition. Women competed at the event for the first time in 2021. Trinity Thomas
Trinity Lemyra Thomas (born April 7, 2001) is an American artistic gymnast and a four-time National Team member (2016–20). She was a member of the gold-medal winning team at the 2018 Pan American Gymnastics Championships, where she also won silver medals in the individual all-around and on the uneven bars, as well as the bronze medalist on balance beam and floor exercise at the 2017 national championships. She is also currently a member of the Florida Gators women's gymnastics team. Gymnastics career Pre-Elite 2011–2012 Thomas commenced gymnastics training in 2008, at the age of 7 – a relatively late start for an elite-level gymnast. Shane Wiskus
Shane Michael Wiskus (born October 1, 1998) is an American artistic gymnast who represented the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Additionally, he represented the United States at the 2019 World Championships and is a three-time NCAA Champion. Personal life Wiskus was born in Waconia, Minnesota, on October 1, 1998, to Tammy and Mike Wiskus. His sister, Annabelle, has performed with the Minnesota Association of Dance Teams. In 2002, Wiskus's mother signed him up for gymnastics classes to develop his coordination and motor skills. He began competing three years later at age seven. Wiskus studied business and marketing at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, US. Yul Moldauer
Yul Kyung-Tae Moldauer (born August 26, 1996) is an American artistic gymnast. He is the 2017 U.S. national all-around champion and the 2017 World bronze medalist on floor exercise. He represented the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Early life and education Moldauer was born in Seoul, South Korea on August 16, 1996 and named Kyung-Tae. Before he was a year old, Peter Moldauer adopted him and named him Yul after the actor Yul Brynner. Because his biological mother was chemically dependent, his adoptive father was told he might not develop into a "productive adult." Moldauer has three siblings, Leah, Sorcha and Sundo.
