2024 UCI Asia Tour
The 2024 UCI Asia Tour is the 20th season of the UCI Asia Tour. The season began on 22 October 2023 with the Hong Kong Cyclothon in Hong Kong and will end on 14 October 2024. The points leader, based on the cumulative results of previous races, wears the UCI Asia Tour cycling jersey. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determines how many points are awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points are awarded. Tour Of Japan
The Tour of Japan is an annual professional road bicycle racing stage race held in Japan since 1996 as part of the UCI Asia Tour. It is sanctioned by the International Cycling Union (UCI) as a 2.1 category race. History Tour of Japan was formed as the successor of the Kokusai Cycle Road Race which began in 1982. In 1996, Tour of Japan began as a UCI category 2-5 stage race, and became category 2–4 in 1997. It was downgraded to category 2–5 in 2002. As the UCI race system was reformed in 2005, it was included in the UCI Asia Tour as a category 2.2 event. It became a category 2.1 event in 2013. The race has only been cancelled three times in its history. The 2003 edition was canceled for concern over the 2002–2004 SARS outbreak, and the 2011 edition was canceled because of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. Joseph Blackmore (born 23 February 2003) is an English cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . He has represented England at the Commonwealth Games. Biography Blackmore finished third at the 2022 National Cyclo-Cross Championships. He joined Team Inspired from ROTOR Race Team. In 2022, he was selected for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where he competed in the men's mountain biking cross country and finished in 5th place, a result he counts as the best on his career. Blackmore took his first UCI Cyclo-cross win at Clanfield in the 2022-2023 season, beating national champion Thomas Mein in the process and finished 2nd in the National Cyclocross Championships, winning the U23 title.
