2024 UAE Tour Women
The 2024 UAE Tour Women was a road cycling stage race that took place between 8 and 11 February 2024 in the United Arab Emirates. It was the second edition of the UAE Tour Women, and the third race of the 2024 UCI Women's World Tour. The race was won by Belgian rider Lotte Kopecky of Team SD Worx–Protime, with Kopecky also winning the sprints jersey. 2024 UCI Women's World Tour
The 2024 UCI Women's World Tour is a competition that includes twenty-seven road cycling events throughout the 2024 women's cycling season. It will be the ninth edition of the UCI Women's World Tour, the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2016. The competition begins with the Women's Tour Down Under from 12 to 14 January, and finishes with the Tour of Guangxi on 20 October. Events The race calendar for the 2024 season was announced in June 2023, with twenty eight races initially scheduled. The calendar is largely similar to 2023, with the dates of races moved to accommodate the 2024 Summer Olympics and 2024 Summer Paralympics. Maggie Coles-Lyster (born 12 February 1999) is a Canadian professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for Zaaf Cycling Team. Coles-Lyster competed at the 2017–18 UCI Track Cycling World Cup where she won a bronze medal in the team pursuit. She also competed at the 2018 Pan American Track Cycling Championships, where she won a bronze medal in the team pursuit event, and at the 2019 Pan American Games where she won silver medals in the team pursuit, and madison events. Georgia Baker (born 21 September 1994) is an Australian professional racing cyclist. She rode in the women's team pursuit at the 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. Cycling career After taking a break from road racing in 2016 with the High5 Dream Team to focus on her Rio Olympics campaign, Orica-Scott announced signing Baker to race in the Women's World Tour team for 2017. In her first European race for the Orica-Scott team at the end of May, Baker was among the 90 non-finishers of 121 that started at Gooik–Geraardsbergen–Gooik.
