2024 Tour De Romandie
The 2024 Tour de Romandie was a road cycling stage race held between 23 and 28 April 2024 in Romandy, the French-speaking part of western Switzerland. It was the 77th edition of the Tour de Romandie and the 20th race of the 2024 UCI World Tour. Tissot SA () is a Swiss watchmaker. The company was founded in Le Locle, Switzerland by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son, Charles-Émile Tissot, in 1853. After several mergers and name changes, the group which Tissot SA belonged to was renamed the Swatch Group in 1998. Tissot is not associated with Mathey-Tissot, another Swiss watchmaking firm. Les Marécottes
Les Marécottes is a village in the Swiss Alps, located in the canton of Valais. The village is situated in the western part of the canton, in the Trient Valley, near Martigny, at a height of 1,110 metres. It belongs to the municipality of Salvan. Les Marécottes is a year-round popular tourist destination. Attractions include an Alpine zoo, a granite-carved swimming pool and a gondola climbing to La Creusaz (1,777 m), on the southern flanks of the Luisin. In winter the village also includes a ski area. Salvan
Salvan is a municipality in the district of Saint-Maurice, in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. History Salvan is first mentioned in 1018 as ''cum Silvano''. Around 1025-31 it was mentioned as ''in monte Salvano''. The municipality was formerly known by its German name ''Scharwang'', however, that name is no longer used. On 5 October 1994, 25 people were found dead in three burned-out chalets in Salvan. The chalets were owned by Luc Jouret, founder of the Order of the Solar Temple. Several victims of the fire were children. Geography Salvan has an area, , of . Of this area, 7.5% is used for agricultural purposes, while 25.7% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 1.6% is settled (buildings or roads) and 65.2% is unproductive land. The municipality is located in the Saint-Maurice district, in the Trient Valley. Individual Time Trial
An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' "stopwatch stage"). There are also track-based time trials where riders compete in velodromes, and team time trials (TTT). ITTs are also referred to as "the race of truth", as winning depends only on each rider's strength and endurance, and not on help provided by teammates and others riding ahead and creating a slipstream. Individual time trial are usually held on flat or rolling terrain, although sometimes they are held up a mountain road (in Italian: ''cronoscalata'' "chrono climbing").
