2024 Sakhir Formula 3 Round
The 2024 Sakhir FIA Formula 3 round was a motor racing event held between 29 February and 2 March 2024 at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, Bahrain. It was the first race of the 2024 FIA Formula 3 Championship and was being held in support of the 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix. Background Team changes New Zealand automotive manufacturer Rodin Cars took over Carlin and renamed the team ''Rodin Motorsport'', after previously becoming majority shareholder in 2023. Driver changes The previous season's top five drivers - reigning champion Gabriel Bortoleto, runner-up Zak O'Sullivan, Paul Aron, Franco Colapinto, and Pepe Martí - all left the series and graduated to the FIA Formula 2 Championship. Bahrain International Circuit
The Bahrain International Circuit ( ar, حلبة البحرين الدولية, Ḥalba al-Baḥrayn ad-Dawliyya) is a motorsport venue opened in 2004 and used for drag racing, GP2 Series (now FIA Formula 2), and the annual Formula One Bahrain Grand Prix. The 2004 Grand Prix was the first held in the Middle East. Beginning in 2006, Australian V8 Supercars raced at the BIC, with the event known as the Desert 400. However, the V8 Supercars did not return for the 2011 V8 Supercar season. 24 Hour endurance races are also hosted at BIC. The circuit has a FIA Grade 1 license. The circuit also has multiple layouts. History The construction of the Bahrain circuit was a national objective for Bahrain, initiated by the Crown Prince, Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Matías Zagazeta (born 8 September 2003) is a Peruvian racing driver who races in the 2023 Formula Regional European Championship, Formula Regional European Championship with R-ace GP. Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak ( th, ทัศนพล อินทรภูวศักดิ์, born 14 November 2005), also known as Tern Inthraphuvasak, is a Thai racing driver set to compete in the 2023 Eurocup-3 season, driving for Campos Racing. He is the son of GT racing driver Vutthikorn Inthraphuvasak. He made his car racing debut in the 2021 Formula 4 UAE Championship, and has competed in various other Formula 4 championships such as French F4, British F4 and Spanish F4, with wins in the latter two. Martinius Kleve Stenshorne (; born 2 February 2006) is a Norwegian racing driver who is competing in the 2024 FIA Formula 3 Championship with Hitech Pulse-Eight. He was the 2023 FRECA runner-up, driving for R-ace GP. He previously raced with Van Amersfoort Racing in the Italian F4 Championship. He is a part of All Road Management run by Nicolas Todt. Career Karting Stenshorne began karting competitively at the age of 10 in 2016. He placed second in the WSK Champions Cup in 2018, before proceeding to win the WSK Master Series and the Italian Championship. Formula Regional European Championship
The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) is a FIA-certified regional European Formula 3 racing series. On 12 October 2018 it was announced that the Italian autosport regulator Automobile Club d’Italia (ACI) and karting promoter WSK would organize the inaugural year of the championship in 2019. Their bid was chosen over Renault Sport's bid with the same chassis, who attracted fewer votes from Single-Seater Commission members. Following the 2020 season, the Formula Renault Eurocup merged with the Formula Regional European Championship to become the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. The Red Bull Junior Team is a driver development program run by the energy drink company Red Bull GmbH in an attempt to identify potential future racing stars in open wheel racing. The similar Red Bull Driver Search, now ended, was an American spinoff of the same idea held in 2005. Members of the Junior Team are financed and sponsored by Red Bull in lower racing formulae.
