2024 King's Cup
The 2024 Annual King's Cup Football Tournament ( Thai: ฟุตบอลชิงถ้วยพระราชทานคิงส์คัพ 2024), also referred to as 2024 King's Cup, is the 50th King's Cup, the annual international men's football tournament organized by Football Association of Thailand. As hosts, Thailand participated automatically in the tournament; they were joined by the AFC teams Tajikistan, Syria, and Philippines. The tournament will be hosted in the Songkhla province. Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai also made bids to host the King's Cup. Penalty Shootout
The penalty shootout is a method of determining a winner in sports matches that would have otherwise been drawn or tied. The rules for penalty shootouts vary between sports and even different competitions; however, the usual form is similar to penalty shots in that a single player takes one shot on goal from a specified spot, the only defender being the goalkeeper. If the result is still tied, the shootout usually continues on a "goal-for-goal" basis, with the teams taking shots alternately, and the one that scores a goal unmatched by the other team is declared the winner. Tinsulanon Stadium
Tinsulanonda Stadium ( th, สนามติณสูลานนท์, ) is a multi-purpose stadium in Songkhla, Thailand. Named after the Songkhla-born former Thai Prime Minister Prem Tinsulanonda, it is used mostly for football matches. The stadium has a capacity of 20,000 but just 2,000 of those spaces are covered in a small single-tiered stand along one touchline. The rest of the stadium is a continuous curving tier. West Asian Football Federation
The West Asian Football Federation (WAFF; ar, اتحاد غرب آسيا لكرة القدم, Ittiḥād Gharb Āsiyā li-Kurat al-Qadam), founded in 2001, is an association of the football playing nations in Western Asia. Its founding members are Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria. In 2009, three more associations joined the federation: Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
