2024 International Darts Open
The 2024 International Darts Open was the third of thirteen PDC European Tour events on the 2024 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at the SACHSENarena, Riesa, Germany from 12 to 14 April 2024. It featured a field of 48 players and £175,000 in prize money, with £30,000 going to the winner. Gerwyn Price was the defending champion after defeating Michael van Gerwen 8–4 in the 2023 final. Martin Schindler won his first European Tour title and first senior PDC title overall, beating Gerwyn Price 8–5 in the final. Sachsen Arena
The Sachsen Arena (often styled SACHSENarena) is a sports arena in Riesa, Germany. It opened in 2004. Under a sponsorship deal in effect until 2012, it was originally named Erdgas Arena. It holds 5,500 people. It is primarily used for ice hockey. It is used for many world level dance competitions called the World Dance Championships run by the International Dance Organization, including a showdance and tap dance competition in which representatives of as many as 50 different countries vie to become "World Champion". Max Hopp
Max Hopp (born 20 August 1996) is a German professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career Hopp reached the final of the 2011 WDF World Cup boys' singles, and won the boys' singles event at the 2012 WDF Europe Youth Cup. He also reached the last 16 of the 2012 Dutch Darts Masters, defeating Terry Jenkins and Steve Beaton before losing to Paul Nicholson. Hopp qualified for the 2013 PDC World Darts Championship by winning the Central European Qualifier in Bielefeld and in doing so became the second-youngest player ever to compete at the championships after Mitchell Clegg. Hopp played Charl Pietersen of South Africa in the preliminary round winning by 4 legs to 1 to set up a first round match against Denis Ovens. Joe Cullen (darts Player)
Joe Cullen (born 13 July 1989) is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He won three Youth Tour tournaments in his early career and has qualified for the PDC World Championship twelve times, winning only thrice in the first round. Cullen reached his first major quarter-final at the 2016 UK Open and won his first PDC Pro Tour title in 2017. He won his first televised title at the 2022 Masters. Stephen Bunting
Stephen Bunting (born 9 April 1985) is an English professional darts player who competes in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Nicknamed The Bullet, Bunting won the 2014 BDO World Darts Championship and is a twice former World Masters champion. Darts career Beginnings Bunting won both the British Teenage Open and the World Youth Masters in 2001 and also captured the WDF Europe Youth Cup in 2002. He made his BDO World Darts Championship debut in 2004 aged 18, where he beat Vincent van der Voort in the first round before losing in the second round to former World Champion Ted Hankey. Lee Evans (born 18 October 1988, from Kempsford) is an England, English professional darts player who currently playing in Professional Darts Corporation events. Career 2015 Evans failed to get a PDC Tour Card for 2015 after he could not get past the last 64 on any of the four days of 2015 PDC Pro Tour#Q School, Q School, but he did qualify for the 2015 UK Open, where he defeated Nick Fulwell and Ronny Huybrechts, before losing 9–4 to Vincent van der Voort in the third round, after being 4–1 ahead. Dylan Slevin
Dylan Slevin (born 19 November 2002) is an Irish professional darts player who plays in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He obtained a PDC Tour Card in January 2023. He previously won two medals in the WDF Europe Cup Youth and represented his country during the WDF World Cup in youth competitions. PDC Order Of Merit
The PDC Order of Merit is a world ranking system used by one of the darts organisations, the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Following the 2007 PDC World Darts Championship it superseded a world ranking system based on points being awarded for performances in ranking tournaments. How it works The Order of Merit is similar to that employed in golf's European Tour. Prize money won during the previous two seasons is calculated and the rankings are determined from this money list. Ricardo Pietreczko (born 20 October 1994), nicknamed "Pikachu", is a German professional darts player who currently plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is a German Champion and bronze medalist of the WDF World Cup. Career Pietreczko started playing darts at the age of 16 after his father put a dartboard in his room and he trained diligently before and after school. In 2014, he took part in a qualifiers for the PDC European Tour events, but for a long time he was not able to qualify for any international tournament.
