2024 FIVB Volleyball Women's Challenger Cup
The 2024 FIVB Women's Volleyball Challenger Cup was the fifth and last edition of the FIVB Women's Volleyball Challenger Cup, an annual women's international volleyball tournament contested by eight national teams that acted as a qualifier for the FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League. The tournament was held at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila, the Philippines, between 4 and 7 July 2024. The host Philippines were the only debutants in this edition. The Czech Republic won the title and earned the right to participate in the 2025 Nations League after defeating Puerto Rico in the final. The Puerto Rico women's national volleyball team is one of the more consistent teams of the NORCECA zone, Puerto Rico has taken one silver and two bronzes on the NORCECA Women's Volleyball Championship, one silver and three bronzes at the Pan-American Cup, and five silvers and one bronze at the Central American and Caribbean Games. 2024 AVC Women's Challenge Cup
The 2024 AVC Women's Challenge Cup was the fifth edition of the AVC Women's Challenge Cup, an annual international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) and this year with the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF). The tournament was held at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila, Philippines between 22 and 29 May 2024. The winners of the tournament, Vietnam, qualified for the 2024 FIVB Women's Volleyball Challenger Cup. Vietnam won their second consecutive title after defeating Kazakhstan in a straight-sets final. The host Philippines defeated Australia in a straight-sets 3rd place match and took the bronze medal. Nguyễn Thị Bích Tuyền was named as the MVP of the tournament. The North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) is the international governing body for the sports of volleyball in Northern America, Central America, and the Caribbean. The 2019 FIVB Women's Volleyball Challenger Cup was the second edition of the FIVB Women's Volleyball Challenger Cup, an annual women's international volleyball tournament contested by six national teams that acts as a qualifier for the FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League. The Confederación Sudamericana de Voleibol (CSV) ( Portuguese: ) is the continental governing body for the sports of volleyball in South America. Its headquarters is located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Profile The CSV's origins are still under dispute. Some argue it was founded in Buenos Aires, Argentina on February 12, 1946; some, that it was founded in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on July 3 of the same year. The African Volleyball Confederation (French: ''Confédération Africaine de Volleyball'', or CAVB) is the continental governing body for the sports of volleyball in Africa. Its headquarters are located in Rabat, Morocco. Profile The CAVB was the last confederation to be created: it was established in 1972, when the FIVB turned its five Volleyball Zone Commissions into continental confederations.
