The 2024 Dallas Wings season is the franchise's 27th season in the Women's National Basketball Association and the 9th season for the franchise in Dallas - after relocating from Tulsa and Detroit. WNBA Western Conference
The Western Conference of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is made up of six teams. From the league's second season in 1998 through 2015, the WNBA operated separate playoff brackets for its Eastern and Western Conferences. Each conference's playoff was divided into two playoff rounds, the Conference Semi-Finals and the Conference Finals, with the Conference Finals winners receiving Conference Championships and advancing to the WNBA Finals to determine the WNBA champion. In the final years of this playoff scheme, all in-conference playoff series were best-of-three. Since 2016, the league has abandoned separate conference playoffs in favor of a single league-wide playoff bracket. Stephanie Soares (born 17 April 2000) is a Brazilian professional basketball player for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She played college basketball at The Master's University and Iowa State. She represented Brazil at the 2019 Pan American Games and won a gold medal. Playing career College Soares began her collegiate career at The Master's University. During the 2018–19 season in her freshman year, she led the nation in rebounding (470), blocked shots (173), and recorded 29 double-doubles. She set the single-season program records for rebounds, rebounding average, and blocked shots. Indiana Fever
The Indiana Fever are an American professional basketball team based in Indianapolis, playing in the Eastern Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team was founded before the 2000 season began. The team is owned by Herb Simon, who also owns the Fever's NBA counterpart, the Indiana Pacers, and Simon Malls. The Fever has qualified for the WNBA Playoffs in 13 of its 21 seasons in Indiana. Some of the players who have helped define the history of the Fever include the American players Tamika Catchings, Katie Douglas, and Tully Bevilaqua from Australia. Odyssey Celeste Sims (born July 13, 1992) is an American professional basketball player for the Connecticut Sun of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). An AP and WBCA All-American, Sims was born in Irving, Texas and graduated from MacArthur High School. High school Sims was a 2010 graduate of MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas. She was rated the number one point guard in the class of 2010, earned the WBCA/State Farm National High School Player of the Year award and had her jersey retired. Morgan Bertsch (born April 20, 1997) is an American professional basketball player for the Chicago Sky of the WNBA. She was drafted by the Dallas Wings in the 2019 WNBA Draft. She played college basketball at UC Davis. College career Bertsch played her collegiate basketball for the UC Davis Aggies. Coming out of high school, Bertsch didn't play any AAU basketball and UC Davis was the only Division I school to offer her out of high school. During her freshman season, Bertsch redshirted from the basketball team, but competed for the UC Davis Aggies women's track and field team as a high jumper. Monique Charice Billings (born May 2, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was drafted into the WNBA in 2018 by the Dream. College career UCLA Billings played basketball at Santiago High School in Corona, California. The Atlanta Dream are an American professional basketball team based in Atlanta, playing in the Eastern Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team was founded for the 2008 WNBA season. The team is owned by real estate investors Larry Gottesdiener, Suzanne Abair and former Dream player Renee Montgomery. Crystal Simone Dangerfield (born May 11, 1998) is an American basketball player for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). After a high school career that made her the nation's top-ranked point guard, she played college basketball for the UConn Huskies. Dangerfield was drafted in the second round of the 2020 WNBA draft by Minnesota, where she was named WNBA Rookie of the Year after leading the team in scoring.
