Wellington Phoenix FC (A-League Women)
Wellington Phoenix Women's Football Club is a New Zealand professional women's football club based in Wellington, New Zealand. The Phoenix competes in the Australian premier women's soccer competition A-League Women, under licence from Football Federation Australia and New Zealand Football. History Establishment For several years, there have been talks concerning the creation of a professional women's football team in New Zealand so as to boost the level of women's football in New Zealand and Oceania with the cost of traveling to away games a major barrier. There were no professional clubs in New Zealand and the National League only featured amateur teams. The talks intensified after New Zealand won the rights to co-host the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup and the W-League plans to add three more expansion teams by that time. Mackenzie Dale Barry (born 11 April 2001) is a football player who has represented New Zealand at U-17 and Under-20 age group levels and the senior New Zealand women's national football team. She plays club football for Wellington Phoenix FC in Australia's A-League Women competition. In professional association football, a free transfer, also known as a Bosman transfer, involves a professional association football club releasing a player when the player's contract has expired or made available just before the end of the contract. The player can then go on to sign for any club offering a contract to them. Canterbury United Pride
Canterbury United Pride is a semi-professional women's association football team based in Christchurch, New Zealand. The team was established in 2002 as Mainland Pride by Mainland Football as the regional federation's representative in the National Women's League. As such, the teams plays matches at English Park, a 3,000 capacity venue and the headquarters of Mainland Football. Mainland Pride's first achievement was in their 2011–12 season, with the team finishing first in the National Women's League Southern Conference. Hailey Davidson (born November 10, 2000) is an American professional soccer player from Prosper, Texas, who currently plays as a defender for the Dallas Trinity FC in the USL Super League. Hope Elizabeth Breslin (born March 10, 1999) is an American soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Brooklyn FC in the USL Super League.
