2023–24 Super Smash (men's Cricket)
The 2023–24 Super Smash is the 19th season of the men's Super Smash Twenty20 cricket competition played in New Zealand, scheduled to take place between 19 December 2023 and 28 January 2024. Northern Brave were the defending champions. The Auckland Aces have been crowned Super Smash champions, after heavy rain abandoned play with Canterbury 133-2 after 14.2 overs at Eden Park on Sunday evening. The tournament runs alongside the 2023–24 Plunket Shield and 2023–24 Ford Trophy. Competition format Teams played in a double round-robin in a group of six, therefore playing 10 matches overall. Matches were played using a Twenty20 format. The top team in the group advanced straight to the final, whilst the second and third placed teams played off in an elimination final. The Central Stags, formerly known as Central Districts, are a first-class cricket team based in central New Zealand. They are the men's representative side of the Central Districts Cricket Association. Wayne Knights
Wayne Roger Knights (born 25 August 1970) is a New Zealand cricket umpire. Along with Tim Parlane, Knights umpired the final of the 2015–16 Ford Trophy, in January 2016. He was added to the ICC International Panel of Umpires in June 2016. He stood in his first One Day International (ODI) match on 26 December 2016, between New Zealand and Bangladesh. He stood in his first Twenty20 International (T20I) match on 3 January 2017, also between New Zealand and Bangladesh. Eden Park
Eden Park is New Zealand's largest sports stadium, with a capacity of 50,000. James Neesham
James Douglas Sheahan Neesham (born 17 September 1990), better known as Jimmy Neesham, is a New Zealand international cricketer who has played for New Zealand cricket team. He currently plays in various T20 leagues around the globe as an All-rounder. Michael James Rippon (born 14 September 1991) is a South African-born cricketer. He current plays international cricket for New Zealand, having previously also played for the Netherlands national cricket team. He is a right-handed batsman who bowls left-arm unorthodox spin. In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Robert Roux O'Donnell (born 12 September 1994) is a New Zealand cricketer. Under-19s career In 2014 Under-19 World Cup, he was named captain of the New Zealand team. O'Donnell was part of the squad for the previous edition of the tournament in 2012 in which New Zealand reached the semi-finals. O'Donnell scored unbeaten century helped the team comprehensively defeat the United Arab Emirates Under-19s by 112 runs in Sharjah.
