2023–24 Premier League
The 2023–24 Premier League is the 32nd season of the Premier League and 125th season of English football overall. The fixtures were announced on 15 June 2023 at 09:00 BST. Manchester City are the three-time defending champions, and can become the first men's club in the history of the English top-flight to win four titles in a row, if successful. This season is the third to feature a winter break, with every team having a two week break from all competitions sometime between January 2 and January 30. The summer transfer window lasted between 14 June and 1 September 2023. The Premier League's winter transfer window opened on 1 January 2024 and will close at 23:00 GMT on 1 February 2024. The Premier League (legal name: The Football Association Premier League Limited) is the highest level of the men's English football league system. Contested by 20 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the English Football League (EFL). Seasons typically run from August to May with each team playing 38 matches (playing all 19 other teams both home and away). Most games are played on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, with occasional weekday evening fixtures. The 2009–10 Premier League (known as the Barclays Premier League for sponsorship reasons) was the 18th season of the Premier League since its establishment in 1992. The provisional fixtures are scheduled to be released on Wednesday 15 June 2022.
