2023–24 PHF Season
The 2024 PHF season was to be the ninth ice hockey season of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) – known as the National Women's Hockey League during its first six seasons (2015–2021). League business The PHF elected not to hold a draft in 2023. On June 30, 2023, the Premier Hockey Federation announced a sale of the league to the Mark Walter Group. This sale changed the landscape in North American women's professional hockey, as it united the players from the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association and the PHF into a single league. Premier Hockey Federation
The Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), formerly the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL), is a women's professional ice hockey league located in the United States and Canada. The league was established in 2015 with four league-owned teams and has since grown to a mixture of seven independently owned teams: the Boston Pride, Buffalo Beauts, Connecticut Whale, Metropolitan Riveters, Minnesota Whitecaps, Montreal Force and Toronto Six. The Isobel Cup, the league's championship trophy, is awarded annually to the league playoff champion at the end of each season. Kateřina Mrázová (ice Hockey)
Kateřina Mrázová (born 19 October 1992) is a Czech ice hockey forward and member of the Czech national team, currently playing in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) with the Connecticut Whale. Known for her stickhandling skill, she was the first European player to win the Clarkson Cup, winning the championship with the Boston Blades in 2013, and the first Czech player to score a goal in the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL; renamed PHF in 2021). Playing career Her first season in the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) was in 2012–13. She played with the Boston Blades under the direction of head coach Digit Murphy and was used as a defensive forward. Minttu Tuominen
Minnamari "Minttu" Tuominen (born 26 June 1990) is a Finnish ice hockey player, currently signed with the Metropolitan Riveters of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) for the 2022–23 season. A member of the Finnish national ice hockey team since 2008, she has earned medals at three Winter Olympic Games and five IIHF World Women's Championships. Playing career Finland Tuominen played for the Espoo Blues and attended Makelanrinne Sports High School in Helsinki. Susanna "Suski" Tapani (born 2 March 1993) is a Finnish multi-sport elite athlete who competes in ice hockey, ringette, and in-line hockey. She is a member of the Finnish national ice hockey team and Finnish national ringette team. Tapani is the subject of a Finnish documentary, ('Icebreaker'), which follows her life as she competes in elite ringette, ice hockey, and in-line hockey from 2015 to 2019. Noora Helena Räty (born 29 May 1989) is a Finnish ice hockey goaltender, playing in the Naisten Liiga (ice hockey), Naisten Liiga (NSML) with HPK Kiekkonaiset. She is affiliated with the Minnesota chapter of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) and is a founding member of the organization's board. Emma Nuutinen (born 7 December 1996) is a Finnish ice hockey player, playing in the Naisten Liiga (NSML) with Kiekko-Espoo. Chloé Aurard (born 15 March 1999) is a French ice hockey forward playing for the New York PWHL team of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL), and the French national team. Playing career In the 2013-14 season, Aurard played in the France women's ice hockey league, the top level of women's ice hockey in the country. In a season that began when she was just 14 years old, she ranked 2nd in the league in scoring with 17 goals and 24 points in 11 games. From 2018 to 2023, Aurard played for the Northeastern Huskies. Amalie Andersen
Amalie Andersen (born 6 October 1999) is a Danish ice hockey player and member of the Danish national team, currently playing in the Swedish Nationella Damhockeyligan (NDHL) with Rögle BK. Playing career Andersen's college ice hockey career was played with the Maine Black Bears women's ice hockey program in the Hockey East (WHEA) conference of the NCAA Division I during 2019 to 2023. She became the first Danish player to sign in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) when she accepted a contract with the Buffalo Beauts in early June 2023. Tereza Vanišová (born 30 January 1996) is a Czech professional ice hockey player for PWHL Montreal of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and a member of the Czech Republic women's national ice hockey team.
