2023–24 Motherwell F.C. Season
The 2023–24 season was Motherwell's thirty-ninth consecutive season in the top flight of Scottish football, having been promoted from the Scottish First Division at the end of the 1984–85 season. Season review Preseason On 26 May, Motherwell announced a week-long training camp in Delden, Netherlands. On 31 May, Motherwell announced that Josh Morris had been released from his contract early, and that negotiations for new contracts where taking place with Jake Carroll, Logan Dunachie, Daniel Hunter, Kian Speirs, Jack Aitchison, Matthew Connelly, Max Johnston, Ewan Wilson, Dan Casey, Dean Cornelius, Sean Goss, Mikael Mandron, David Devine and Corey O’Donnell. The draw for the 2023–24 Scottish League Cup took place on 8 June, drawing Motherwell at home to Queen's Park and East Fife, and away to Elgin City and Queen of the South. Motherwell ( sco, Mitherwall, gd, Tobar na Màthar) is a town and former burgh in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, south east of Glasgow. It has a population of around 32,120. Historically in the parish of Dalziel and part of Lanarkshire, Motherwell is the headquarters for North Lanarkshire Council. Geographically the River Clyde separates Motherwell from Hamilton to the west whereas the South Calder Water separates Motherwell from Carfin to the north-east and New Stevenston and Bellshill towards the north. Motherwell is also geographically attached to Wishaw and the two towns form a large urban area in North Lanarkshire, with both towns having similar populations and strong community ties. David Devine (born 20 June 2001) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a defender for Alloa Athletic. Mikael Mandron
Mikael Yann Mathieu Mandron (born 11 October 1994) is a French professional footballer who plays as a striker for Motherwell of the Scottish Premiership. Mandron joined the Academy at Sunderland from the French lower leagues in the summer of 2011. He completed his two-year scholarship before making his Premier League debut in April 2013. He joined League Two side Fleetwood Town on loan in 2014 and spent time on loan at fellow League Two club Shrewsbury Town in 2015. Sean Richard Goss (born 1 October 1995) is a Northern Irish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Greek Super League club Asteras Tripolis. Goss spent his youth career at Exeter City and Manchester United. He left United in January 2017, having never made a senior appearance for the club, to join Queens Park Rangers. Dan Casey (born 29 October 1997) is an Irish association football player who plays as a defender for club Motherwell. Max Johnston (born 26 December 2003) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a defender for Scottish Premiership side Motherwell. Jack Aitchison (born 5 March 2000) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a forward for Exeter City. Career Celtic Aitchison graduated from Celtic's school of excellence at St Ninians High School in Kirkintilloch in February 2016, at which time he joined Celtic full-time and became part of their Under 17 squad.
