2023–24 East Asia Super League
The 2023–24 East Asia Super League is the second regular season of the East Asia Super League, an international basketball club competition involving teams from domestic leagues in Japan, South Korea, Philippines and Taiwan. The season started on 11 October 2023, and ended on 10 March 2024. Originally set to be held from 12 October 2022 to February 2023 under a in home and away format and a Final Four knockout stage, the start of the EASL regular season was postponed to October 2023. The 2023 EASL Champions Week was organized in March as a pre-season tournament. The tournament was retroactively considered as the EASL's first season. The 2023–24 season is tagged by the organizers as its second season. The Chiba Jets won the championship after defeating Seoul SK Knights in the final in the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City, Philippines. East Asia Super League
The East Asia Super League (Simplified Chinese:东亚超级联赛; Traditional Chinese: 東亞超級聯賽; Korean: 동아시아 슈퍼리그; Japanese: 東アジアスーパーリーグ), abbreviated as EASL, is a basketball league featuring clubs in Greater China, Japan, South Korea and the Philippines. From 2017 to 2019, four pre-season tournaments (The Super 8 and later The Terrific 12) were organized by EASL, featuring clubs from select professional basketball leagues in the region. The Bay Area Dragons is a basketball team in the East Asia Super League. Based in Hong Kong, the team is meant to represent Greater China. History The Dragons were originally formed as the Bay Area Chun Yu Phoenixes as a franchise team for the East Asia Super League as a representative team for Greater China, with the core of the team intended to consist of players from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. Hong Kong was made as the home venue of the Phoenixes. While the team is meant to represent Greater China, the Phoenixes are seeded as a team from Hong Kong. Both the Phoenixes and the P. The TNT (cellular service), TNT Tropang Giga is a professional basketball team currently owned by Smart Communications, a subsidiary of the PLDT, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), playing in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) since 1990.
