The 2023–24 Cymru South season (also known as the 2023–24 JD Sports, JD Cymru South season for sponsorship reasons) was the fourth season of the second-tier Southern region football in Welsh football league system, Welsh football pyramid. The winners (Briton Ferry Llansawel A.F.C., Briton Ferry Llansawel) were promoted to the 2024–25 Cymru Premier. The bottom three teams (Abergavenny Town F.C., Abergavenny Town, Abertillery Bluebirds F.C., Abertillery Bluebirds, and Pontardawe Town F.C., Pontardawe Town) were relegated to either the 2024–25 Ardal SE or 2024–25 Ardal SW. Teams The league consisted of 16 clubs; 13 clubs remaining from the previous season, and 3 clubs promoted from the Ardal Southern Leagues. The champions of the 2022–23 Ardal SE, Ardal SE and 2022–23 Ardal SW, Ardal SW leagues from 2022–23, Caerau (Ely) A.F.C., Caerau (Ely) and Abertillery Bluebirds F.C., Abertillery Bluebirds respectively, were both promoted after achieving the necessary license. ...

Cymru South
The Cymru South is a regional football league in Wales, covering the southern half of the country. It has clubs with semi-professional status and together with the Cymru North, it forms the second tier of the Welsh football league system. The first year of its operation was in 2019–20 with the Football Association of Wales owning and administering the tier 2 leagues for the first time. These changes followed on from a review of the Welsh Football Pyramid. Prior to 2019, the equivalent league was the Welsh Football League Division One, covering South Wales. Member clubs for 2022–23 season The following teams were confirmed as members for the season after the Football Association of Wales confirmed relegation from, and promotion to the league in June 2020.
