County Antrim Shield
The County Antrim & District Football Association Senior Shield (more commonly known as the County Antrim Shield) is a football competition in Northern Ireland. The competition is open to senior teams who are members of the North East Ulster Football Association (also known as the County Antrim & District Football Association) (membership of which extends geographically beyond County Antrim itself), often plus intermediate teams who qualify via the Steel & Sons Cup, depending on the numbers required. For the 2010–11 and 2011-12 seasons, only the winners took part. The current Shield holders are Glentoran, who beat Larne 5–4 on penalties in the 2024–25 final, winning the trophy for the first time since the 2010–11 season. Seaview (football Ground)
Seaview is a football stadium in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It is the home ground of Crusaders, and traditionally hosts the final of the Steel & Sons Cup on Christmas Day. The stadium holds 3,383, and has a 4G playing surface. Seaview has undergone considerable redevelopment in recent seasons, with new changing rooms, dug-outs and main-stand seats being installed. Three new stands at either end of the ground and on its southern side were opened in July 2011 to replace the previous terracing. Location and access Seaview was opened in 1921 as the home venue of Crusaders Football Club and is located on the Shore Road, approximately one mile north of Belfast city centre. David Fisher (footballer)
David Fisher (born 9 December 2001) is a Czech-English professional footballer who plays as a forward for NIFL Premiership club Glentoran. He has a Czech mother and an English father and holds both a Czech and a British passport. Career Fisher began his career at the age of 8 in the youth team of AFC Wimbledon. He gradually rose through the youth teams. He gained his first experience of adult football on loan at South Park FC. Fisher joined Carshalton Athletic on loan and scored a hat trick in the FA Cup within a haul of 6 goals in as many games, before non-league football was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. He then went to Hampton & Richmond Borough in November 2020, but Wimbledon kept his player registration. The penalty shootout is a method of determining a winner in sports matches that would have otherwise been drawn or tied.
