2023 World Wrestling Championships – Men's Freestyle 65 Kg
The men's freestyle 65 kilograms is a competition featured at the 2023 World Wrestling Championships, and was held in Belgrade, Serbia on 18 and 19 September 2023. This freestyle wrestling competition consists of a single-elimination tournament, with a repechage used to determine the winner of two bronze medals. The two finalists face off for gold and silver medals. Each wrestler who loses to one of the two finalists moves into the repechage, culminating in a pair of bronze medal matches featuring the semifinal losers each facing the remaining repechage opponent from their half of the bracket. Nicholas Boone Lee (born March 12, 1998) is an American freestyle and former folkstyle wrestler who competes at 65 kilograms. He is also an assistant coach for the Penn State wrestling team. In freestyle, he is a Pan American champion and a US National champion. Lee represented the United States at 65 kg at the 2023 World Championships. In folkstyle, Lee was a two-time NCAA Division I National champion and a Big Ten Conference champion out of the Pennsylvania State University. Agustín Alejandro Destribats (born October 30, 1997) is an Argentine freestyle wrestler who competes at 65 kilograms. He has represented Argentina at the 2020 Summer Olympics, at the 2023 Pan American Games, earning bronze, and the 2018 and 2022 editions of the South American Games, earning silver and gold respectively. Erik Arushanian (; born 20 January 1999) is a Ukrainian freestyle wrestler of Armenian descent who competes at 65 kilograms. Arushanian claimed a bronze medal from the 2020 European Championships and is the 2021 U23 European Continental champion. Lachlan Bogart McNeil (born January 19, 2001) is a Canadian freestyle wrestler and folkstyle wrestler who competes at 65 kilograms. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, Otoguro claimed the gold medal after beating the likes of defending World Champion Gadzhimurad Rashidov and three-time World Champion Haji Aliyev.
