The 2023 West Virginia Mountaineers football team represented West Virginia University as a member of the Big 12 Conference during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Big 12 Conference
The Big 12 Conference is a college athletic conference headquartered in Irving, Texas, USA. It consists of ten full-member universities. It is a member of Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for all sports. Its football teams compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS; formerly Division I-A), the higher of two levels of NCAA Division I football competition. Its 10 members, in the states of Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and West Virginia, include two private Christian universities and eight public universities. Kaden Prather
Kaden Prather (born September 6, 2002) is an American football wide receiver for the Maryland Terrapins. He previously played for the West Virginia Mountaineers. Early life and high school Prather attended high school at Northwest. Prather had a breakout junior season bringing in 844 receiving yards. Coming out of high school, Prather was rated as a four-star recruit, where he decided to commit to play college football for the West Virginia Mountaineers. College career West Virginia In Prather's first collegiate season in 2021, he notched 12 receptions for 175 yards. In 2022, Prather had a career performance against Baylor where he hauled in eight receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown, in a win over Baylor. Prather finished the 2022 season with 52 receptions for 501 yards and three touchdowns. Beanie Bishop
Shannon "Beanie" Bishop Jr. is an American football cornerback for the West Virginia Mountaineers. He previously played for the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers and Minnesota Golden Gophers. Early life Bishop was born in Louisville, Kentucky. At his birth, his godmother referred to him as "my beanie baby", and the nickname "Beanie" stuck. He attended Pleasure Ridge Park High School in Louisville and was football team captain while playing wide receiver, defensive back and return specialist. Georgia Southern Eagles Football
The Georgia Southern Eagles football program represents Georgia Southern University in football as part of the Sun Belt Conference. The current head coach is Clay Helton. The Eagles have won six FCS (I-AA) national championships and have produced two Walter Payton Award winners. The Marshall Thundering Herd football team is an intercollegiate varsity sports program of Marshall University. The team represents the university as a member of the Sun Belt Conference East Division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, playing at the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision level. The Abilene Christian Wildcats football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the Abilene Christian University located in the U.S. state of Texas. The Angelo State Rams football team represents Angelo State University in NCAA Division II college football. The Rams compete in the South Division of the Lone Star Conference. Texas State Bobcats Football
The Texas State Bobcats football program Texas State University in college football at the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) level. They play in the Sun Belt Conference. Indiana Hoosiers Football
The Indiana Hoosiers football program represents Indiana University Bloomington in NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision college football and in the Big Ten Conference.
