2023 Uman Missile Strike
During the night of 28 April 2023, around 4 a.m., Russia launched more than 20 Kh-101/X-101 long range missile strikes against residential buildings in Uman, Ukraine, during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. 23 civilians were killed, including three children, while nine were injured. Uman was located 200 miles away from any front line in the Russo-Ukrainian War. In one building, 27 out of 46 apartments were destroyed by the blast. Events Russia said it was "aiming for the reserve units and used high-precision weapons" in Uman, but no military casualties were recorded among the dead. The airstrike was quickly followed by a Telegram post by the Russian Ministry of Defense of an image of a missile launch with the caption "right on target". Russian Strikes Against Ukrainian Infrastructure (2022–present)
During the autumn and winter of 2022–2023, Russia launched waves of missile and drone strikes against energy infrastructure as part of its invasion of Ukraine. The strikes targeted civilian areas beyond the battlefield, particularly critical power infrastructure, which is considered a war crime. On 10 October 2022 Russia attacked the power grid throughout Ukraine, including the in Kyiv, with a wave of 84 cruise missiles and 24 suicide drones. Dmytro Ivanovych Kuleba ( uk, Дмитро Іванович Кулеба; born 19 April 1981) is a Ukrainian politician, diplomat, and communications specialist, currently serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
