2023 Tour De Suisse Women
The 2023 Tour de Suisse Women was a women's road cycling stage race that was held in Switzerland from 17 to 20 June 2023. It was the seventh edition of the Tour de Suisse and was the nineteenth event on the 2023 UCI Women's World Tour calendar, joining the World Tour for the first time. The race was held following the men's Tour de Suisse. It was won by Swiss rider Marlen Reusser of SD Worx, in her third win of the season. SD Worx dominated the event, winning 4 out of 5 classifications. Teams 10 of 14 UCI Women's WorldTeams and 8 UCI Women's Continental Teams made up the eighteen teams that participated in the race. 2023 UCI Women's World Tour
The 2023 UCI Women's World Tour is a competition that includes twenty-seven road cycling events throughout the 2023 women's cycling season. It is the eighth edition of the UCI Women's World Tour, the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2016. The competition began with the Women's Tour Down Under from 15 to 17 January, and will finish with the Tour of Guangxi on 17 October. Events The race calendar for the 2023 season was announced in June 2022, with thirty races initially scheduled, up from twenty-three that were held in 2022. The calendar features several new races including the Women's Tour Down Under, Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and La Vuelta Femenina. Claire Steels
Claire Steels (born 9 November 1986) grew up in the market town of Bourne, Lincolnshire in the United Kingdom. After completing education at Bourne Grammar School and University of Hull. Steels became a British professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's World Tour Team, . In 2019, Steels took the overall classification, and a time trial stage win, at Rás na mBan. Steels competed in the 2023 edition of the British National Road Race Championships. After finding herself in a front group of nine riders, she attacked on Skelton Green to reduce the selection to seven. When eventual winner Pfeiffer Georgi attacked from the group on the final descent of the race, Steels was able to move away from the remaining riders, finishing as runner-up. Katarzyna Niewiadoma
Katarzyna "Kasia" Niewiadoma (born 29 September 1994) is a Polish racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Among her wins are the Amstel Gold Race, the Trofeo Alfredo Binda and the stage race The Women's Tour. She is a former national champion in both the road race and time trial events. In July 2022, she was named as one of the pre-race favourites for the first edition of the Tour de France Femmes, and eventually finished third overall. Early years Niewiadoma started racing bikes with local club WLKS Krakus BBC Czaja and soon emerged as one of the most promising women riders in Poland. In 2013, she won two national Under-23 champion titles, finishing 4th in both the elite time-trial and elite road race. Eleonora Camilla Gasparrini (born 25 March 2002) is an Italian professional track and road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's World Team . Gasparrini won the junior road race at the 2020 European Road Championships. At elite level, she had a podium finish in the 2021 Ronde van Drenthe. Individual Time Trial
An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' "stopwatch stage"). There are also track-based time trials where riders compete in velodromes, and team time trials (TTT). ITTs are also referred to as "the race of truth", as winning depends only on each rider's strength and endurance, and not on help provided by teammates and others riding ahead and creating a slipstream.
