2023 Texas Tech Red Raiders Baseball Team
The 2023 Texas Tech Red Raiders baseball team represented Texas Tech University during the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Red Raiders played their home games at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park in Lubbock, Texas and competed as members of the Big 12 Conference. They were led by eleventh-year head coach Tim Tadlock. Previous season The 2022 team finished the regular season 36–18, 15–9 in Big 12 play, finishing fourth in the conference. The team went 1–2 in the Big 12 tournament, defeating Kansas State in game 1, losing to Oklahoma in game 2 and were eliminated by Kansas State in game 3. The Red Raiders were invited to the Statesboro Regional, going 2–2. The team was defeated by Notre Dame in game 1, before defeating UNC Greensboro and host Georgia Southern in the next two games. Tim Tadlock
Tim Tadlock (born December 21, 1968) is a collegiate baseball coach and former player. He served as head coach of the Grayson Vikings representing Grayson County College (GCC) (1997–2005) and the Texas Tech Red Raiders representing Texas Tech University (2013–present). Tadlock guided the Grayson Vikings to back-to-back National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I World Series titles in 1999 and 2000. In 2014, Tadlock led his alma mater to their first College World Series appearance and received the Skip Bertman Award, presented to the college baseball coach of the year by the College Baseball Foundation. Early years Tadlock was a two-time all-district baseball player while attending Denton High School in Denton, Texas. UFCU Disch–Falk Field
UFCU Disch–Falk Field is the baseball stadium of the University of Texas at Austin. It has been home to Texas Longhorns baseball since it opened on February 17, 1975, replacing Clark Field as the home of the Longhorns. The stadium is named for former Longhorns coaches Billy Disch and Bibb Falk. 2023 Iowa Hawkeyes Baseball Team
The Iowa Hawkeyes baseball program represents the University of Iowa in college baseball. The program started in 1890. It is a member of the Big Ten Conference and is the only NCAA Division I baseball program in the state of Iowa. Record by year This is a table of the Iowa Hawkeyes record year-by-year. Kevin Chet Bazzell (born March 29, 2003) is an American professional baseball catcher in the Washington Nationals organization. He was drafted by the Nationals in the 3rd round of the 2024 MLB draft. Amateur career Bazzell grew up in Rockwall, Texas and attended Rockwall-Heath High School. He was named the area Offensive Player of the Year by '' The Dallas Morning News'' as a senior after he batted .438 with five home runs and 36 RBI.
