2023 Telangana Legislative Assembly Election
The 2023 Telangana legislative assembly election is scheduled to be held in or before December 2023 to elect all 119 members of the Telangana Legislative Assembly, state's Legislative Assembly. K. Chandrashekar Rao of Bharat Rashtra Samithi, is expected to be the incumbent chief minister of state at the time of the elections. Background The tenure of Telangana Legislative Assembly is scheduled to end on 16 January 2024. Telangana Legislative Assembly
The Telangana Legislative Assembly or Telangana Śāsana Sabha is the lower house of the Telangana Legislature. The Legislative Assembly of Telangana currently consists of 119 elected members and 1 nominated member from the Anglo-Indian community. Its chief engineer was Nawab Sarwar Jung. The members of the ''Vidhana Sabha'' are directly elected by people through Universal suffrage, adult franchise. Each List of constituencies of Telangana Legislative Assembly, constituency elects one member of the assembly. Members are popularly known as M.L.A's. The assembly is elected using the Plurality voting, simple plurality or "first past the post" electoral system. The elections are conducted by the Election Commission of India. United Progressive Alliance (UPA) is a centre-left political alliance of predominantly left-leaning political parties in India.
