2023 Surbiton Trophy
The 2023 Surbiton Trophy was a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor grass. It was the 18th edition for men and 19th for women, which were respectively part of the 2023 ATP Challenger Tour and the 2023 ITF Women's World Tennis Tour. Grass Court
A grass court is one of the four different types of tennis court on which the sport of tennis, originally known as "lawn tennis", is played. Grass courts are made of grasses in different compositions depending on the tournament. Although grass courts are more traditional than other types of tennis courts, maintenance costs of grass courts are higher than those of hard courts and clay courts. Grass courts (in the absence of suitable covers) must be left for the day if rain appears, as the grass becomes very slippery when wet and will not dry for many hours. This is a disadvantage on outdoor courts compared to using hard and clay surfaces, where play can resume in 30 to 120 minutes after the end of rain. Olivia Nicholls
Olivia Ann Nicholls (born 26 October 1994) is a British tennis player who specialises in doubles. Nicholls has won one doubles title on the WTA Tour and 17 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. On 9 January 2023, she peaked at No. 59 in the WTA doubles rankings. Nicholls graduated from Loughborough University. Daniel Mark L. Cox (born 28 September 1990 in Lincoln, England), is a British tennis player. While playing tennis for Lincolnshire, he first came into international prominence when he reached the finals of Le Petit As, Tarbes. Chung Hyeon (; ; born 19 May 1996) is a South Korean professional tennis player. He is the 2017 Next Gen Finals champion. As an unseeded player, he became the first Korean player to reach a Grand Slam semifinal at the 2018 Australian Open. Ryan Peniston (born 10 November 1995) is a British tennis player from Essex. He has a career-high singles ranking of world no. 123, achieved in July 2022, and a doubles ranking of world no. 384 achieved in June 2022. Christopher Eubanks (born May 5, 1996) is an American professional tennis player. He played college tennis for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. There, he was a two-time All-American and twice named ACC Player of the Year. Early life and background Christopher is the son of Mark and Carla Eubanks and has one older brother, Mark. Jason Murray Kubler ( ; born 19 May 1993) is an Australian professional tennis player. Despite a promising junior career, which included the junior world No. 1 ranking and comparisons to Rafael Nadal, Kubler has spent the majority of his professional career on the lower circuits due to a hereditary knee condition that results in weakened meniscus around the joints.
