The 2023 Southern Conference women's Basketball tournament was held March 2–5, 2023, at the Harrah's Cherokee Center in Asheville, North Carolina. Chattanooga earned an automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament. Seeds Teams are seeded by record within the conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. Schedule All tournament games are streamed on ESPN+. The championship will be televised across the region on select Nexstar stations and simulcast on ESPN+. The 2022–23 Chattanooga Mocs women's basketball team represented the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Mocs, led by first-year head coach Shawn Poppie, played their home games at the McKenzie Arena as members of the Southern Conference (SoCon). The 2023 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 68 teams to determine the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college basketball national champion for the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season.
