The 2023 San Francisco Giants season will be the 141st season for the franchise in Major League Baseball, their 66th year in San Francisco, and their 24th at Oracle Park. This will be the fourth season under manager Gabe Kapler. National League West
The National League West is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. This division was formed for the 1969 season when the National League expanded to 12 teams by adding the San Diego Padres and the Montreal Expos. For purpose of keeping a regular-season of 162 games, half of the teams were put into the new National League East, East Division and half into the new West Division. Within each division, the teams played 18 games each against their five division mates (90 games), and also 12 games against the teams in the opposite division (72 games), totaling 162 games. Geography Despite the geography, the owners of the Chicago Cubs insisted that their team be placed into the East Division along with the teams in New York City, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh. Taylor Allen Rogers (born December 17, 1990; nicknamed "Lefty Piece") is an American professional baseball pitcher for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Minnesota Twins, San Diego Padres, and Milwaukee Brewers. Rogers played college baseball at the University of Kentucky, and was selected by the Twins in the 11th round of the 2012 MLB draft. He was named an All-Star in 2021. The 2023 New York Yankees season is the 121st season for the New York Yankees franchise. Thairo Jose Estrada Villegas (born February 22, 1996) is a Venezuelan professional baseball infielder for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). Estrada signed with the New York Yankees as an international free agent in 2012. He was a 2015 New York-Pennsylvania League Mid-Season All Star, and a 2017 Eastern League Mid-Season and Post-Season All Star. Tyler Scott Rogers (born December 17, 1990) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). Rogers played college baseball for Garden City Community College and Austin Peay State University. Rogers was drafted by the Giants in the 10th round of the 2013 MLB draft.
