2023 Sakhir Formula 3 Round
The 2023 Sakhir FIA Formula 3 round was a motor race held on 4 and 5 March 2023 at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir. It was the opening round of the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship, held in support of the 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix. Bahrain International Circuit
The Bahrain International Circuit ( ar, حلبة البحرين الدولية, Ḥalba al-Baḥrayn ad-Dawliyya) is a motorsport venue opened in 2004 and used for drag racing, GP2 Series (now FIA Formula 2), and the annual Formula One Bahrain Grand Prix. The 2004 Grand Prix was the first held in the Middle East. Beginning in 2006, Australian V8 Supercars raced at the BIC, with the event known as the Desert 400. However, the V8 Supercars did not return for the 2011 V8 Supercar season. 24 Hour endurance races are also hosted at BIC. The circuit has a FIA Grade 1 license. The circuit also has multiple layouts. History The construction of the Bahrain circuit was a national objective for Bahrain, initiated by the Crown Prince, Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix
The 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix (officially known as the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2023) was a Formula One motor race that was held on 5 March 2023 at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, Bahrain. It was the opening round of the 2023 Formula One World Championship. Oscar Piastri, Nyck de Vries and Logan Sargeant made their Formula One Grand Prix season debuts with McLaren, AlphaTauri and Williams, respectively. Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen took pole position and won the race, ahead of his teammate Sergio Pérez in what was their first 1-2 finish of the season. Nikola Tsolov ( bg, Никола Цолов, born 21 December 2006) is a Bulgarian racing driver who is the current champion of the F4 Spanish Championship and a member of the Alpine Affiliate programme. He will race with ART Grand Prix in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship. Career Karting The Bulgarian lion (a nickname that he gained early in his career) started his karting career in 2016, supported by his father. Jonny Edgar (born 13 February 2004) is an English racing driver currently set to race in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship for MP Motorsport. He is a member of the Red Bull Junior Team and is the 2020 ADAC Formula 4 champion. Career Karting Born in Whitehaven, Edgar started his career in 2012, being in the fourth generation of Edgars to practice motor racing. Edgar began his karting career with Fusion Motorsport in Britain, finishing second in the Super 1 National Championship just three years after his debut. He also won the SKUSA SuperNationals that year, driving for Team Benik. Sebastián "Sebas" Montoya Freydell (born 11 April 2005) is a Colombian-American racing driver who is currently competing for Prema Racing in the 2022 Formula Regional European Championship and the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship for Campos Racing. He is the son of Formula One race winner Juan Pablo Montoya. Career Karting career Montoya started his competitive karting career in 2013, racing in the Rotax Micro Max class of the Florida Winter Tour when he was just eight years old. Christian Mansell (born 9 February 2005) is an Australian racing driver set to compete in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship with Campos Racing. Paul Aron (born 4 February 2004) is an Estonian racing driver currently set to race in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship with Prema Racing. He previously competed in the Formula Regional European Championship for Prema in 2021 and 2022, in which he ended both series in third. Aron is part of the Mercedes Junior Team. He also won the rookie cup in the 2019 Italian F4 Championship and placed third in the regular standings. Leonardo Fornaroli (born 3 December 2004) is an Italian people, Italian racing driver who is set to compete in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship for Trident. Hugh Barter (born 15 September 2005) is an Australian-Japanese racing driver who is currently racing in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship for Campos Racing. ART Grand Prix is a French motor racing team that competes in formula single-seaters in Europe.
