2023 Rosenborg BK Season
The 2023 season is Rosenborg's 44th consecutive year in the top flight now known as Eliteserien, their 55th season in the top flight of Norwegian football. They will participate in Eliteserien, 2022 Cup, 2023 Cup and the Europa Conference League entering at the Second Qualifying round.This was Kjetil Rekdal's second season as Rosenborg manager, but on 16 June he was sacked. Svein Maalen took over as interim manager with Trond Henriksen as assistant. Rosenborg BK
Rosenborg Ballklub, commonly referred to simply as Rosenborg () or RBK, is a Norwegian professional football club from Trondheim that plays in Eliteserien. The club has won a record 26 league titles, a shared record 12 Norwegian Football Cup titles and have played more UEFA matches than any other Norwegian team. RBK play their home games at the all-seater Lerkendal Stadion which has a capacity of 21,421. The club was founded as Odd in 1917 but were not allowed to play amateur league matches until 1928, when they took the present name. They reached the League of Norway in 1937–38, but were relegated to lower divisions during the 1940s. The club moved to Lerkendal in 1957 and their first title was the 1960 Cup, resulting in their first participation in a UEFA tournament. Tobias Borchgrevink Børkeeiet (born 18 April 1999) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as midfielder for the Austrian Football Bundesliga club Rapid Wien. Santeri Väänänen (born 1 January 2002) is a Finnish professional football player who plays as a midfielder for Eliteserien club Rosenborg, and captains the Finland under-21 national team. André Hansen (born 17 December 1989) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Rosenborg in Eliteserien. He made his International debut for Norway in 2013.
