The Ivy League is an American collegiate athletic conference comprising eight private research universities in the Northeastern United States. The term ''Ivy League'' is typically used beyond the sports context to refer to the eight schools as a group of elite colleges with connotations of academic excellence, selectivity in admissions, and social elitism. Its members are Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University. Memorial Field is a football stadium located in Hanover, New Hampshire, United States. It is the home of Dartmouth Big Green football and outdoor track teams. The athletic teams at Dartmouth College compete in the Ivy League. In 1893, Dartmouth alumni built a football field called Alumni Oval in the southeastern part of the campus. 2023 Dartmouth Big Green Football Team
The 2023 Dartmouth Big Green football team represented Dartmouth College in the 2023 NCAA Division I FCS football season as a member of the Ivy League. The team was to be led by 23rd-year head coach Buddy Teevens, but interim head coach Sammy McCorkle took over play-calling as Teevens recovered from injuries sustained in a bicycle crash which ultimately took his life. McCorkle was later promoted from interim head coach to permanent head coach on October 19. With three straight conference victories against Princeton, Cornell, and Brown in the final three weeks of the season, in combination with a Yale victory over Harvard in the season's final week, the Dartmouth Big Green won a share of the Ivy League title. Schoellkopf Field is a 21,500-capacity stadium at Cornell University's Ithaca campus that opened in 1915 and is used for the Cornell Big Red football, sprint football and lacrosse teams. The 2023 Cornell Big Red football team represented Cornell University as a member of the Ivy League during the 2023 NCAA Division I FCS football season.
