2023 Portuguese Government Corruption Investigation
Operation Influencer ( pt, Operação Influencer) is an ongoing investigation initiated by Portugal's Public Prosecution Service (Portugal), Public Prosecution Service, probing potential corruption within deals that involved members of the Portuguese government during António Costa, António Costa's premiership. The investigation focuses on alleged instances of active and passive corruption and malfeasance regarding four specific deals: two concessions for lithium mines in northern Portugal, a project for a green hydrogen production plant in Sines, and a project for a Data center, data centre, also located in Sines. Public Prosecution Service (Portugal)
The Public Prosecution Service ( pt, Ministério Público; {{lit, Public Ministry; MP) is the body of the Judiciary of Portugal responsible for the public prosecution and the representation of the State before the courts. It is an hierarchic organized body, composed of magistrates and headed by the ''Procurador-Geral da República'' (attorney-general of the Republic). Although having the word "ministry" in its name, the MP is not a ministry in the sense of government department.
