2023 Philadelphia Eagles Season
The 2023 season was the Philadelphia Eagles' 91st season in the National Football League (NFL) and their third under head coach Nick Sirianni. The Eagles entered the season as defending NFC Champions. In Week 15, the Eagles clinched their third consecutive playoff berth, and for the sixth time in seven years due to the Green Bay Packers losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Atlanta Falcons losing to the Carolina Panthers, and the San Francisco 49ers beating the Arizona Cardinals. Despite this, the Eagles failed to equal or improve on their 14–3 record from the previous year after losing to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15. Despite starting with a 10–1 record for the second consecutive season, the Eagles would lose five of their last six games, causing them to lose the first seed in the NFC to the San Francisco 49ers and the NFC East to the Dallas Cowboys. These problems were attributed to the team's poor defense, which was ranked 26th out of 32, which contributed to many ...

Cornerback
A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses. They create turnovers through hard tackles, interceptions, and deflecting forward passes. Other members of the defensive backfield include strong and free safeties. The cornerback position requires speed, agility, strength, and the ability to make rapid sharp turns. A cornerback's skill set typically requires proficiency in anticipating the quarterback, backpedaling, executing single and zone coverage, disrupting pass routes, block shedding, and tackling. Cornerbacks are among the fastest players on the field. Because of this, they are frequently used as return specialists on punts or kickoffs. Overview The cornerback’s chief responsibility is to defend against the offense's pass. The rules of American professional football and American coll ...

1995 Philadelphia Eagles Season
The 1995 Philadelphia Eagles season was their 63rd in the National Football League (NFL). The team improved upon their previous output of 7–9, going 10–6 under new head coach Ray Rhodes and qualifying for the playoffs for the first time in three seasons. It wasn't an auspicious start. Ricky Watters, signed as a free agent from the Super Bowl champion San Francisco, infamously came up short on a pass over the middle in the Eagles' season-opening 21–6 home loss to Tampa Bay. Following the contest, when asked why he didn't commit to catching the ball and taking a hit, he replied "For who? For what?" Three weeks later, the Eagles were thumped by a 31-point margin against the Raiders in Oakland. However, the momentum swung in a positive direction after that, as Philly won four straight and seven of their next eight to get back in the playoff hunt. On a frigid December 10 at the Vet against the Cowboys, the Eagles defense twice stopped Emmitt Smith on 4th-and-1 in Dallas terr ...

2010 Philadelphia Eagles Season
The Philadelphia Eagles season was the franchise's 78th season in the National Football League, and the twelfth under head coach Andy Reid. The Eagles failed to improve on their 11–5 record from 2009, finishing with a 10–6 record. However, they were able to win their division due to a tiebreaker over the New York Giants, who also finished 10-6. In the Wild Card round of the playoffs, the Eagles lost to the eventual Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers. The Eagles played all of their home games at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The off-season saw a significant roster overhaul as Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook, two of the franchise's key players over the last decade, departed. McNabb was traded to Philadelphia's NFC East rival, the Washington Redskins, while Westbrook was cut from the roster and later signed with the San Francisco 49ers. Kevin Kolb was intended to be the Eagles' new franchise quarterback, however he was injured during the Week 1 game and re ...

NFC South
The National Football Conference – Southern Division or NFC South is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It was created prior to the 2002 NFL season, when the league realigned divisions after expanding to 32 teams. The NFC South currently has four member clubs: the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Prior to the 2002 season, the Buccaneers belonged to the AFC West () and NFC North, NFC Central (–), while the other three teams were part of the geographically inaccurate NFC West. The NFC South is one of two divisions to have each of its teams make a Super Bowl appearance since the 2002 realignment (along with the NFC West): Tampa Bay (2002 NFL season, 2002 and 2020 NFL season, 2020), Atlanta (2016 NFL season, 2016), Carolina (2003 NFL season, 2003 and 2015 NFL season, 2015) and New Orleans (2009 NFL season, 2009). Also since 2002, each team ...

2023 Dallas Cowboys Season
The 2023 season was the Dallas Cowboys' 64th season in the National Football League, their 35th under the ownership of Jerry Jones and their fourth under head coach Mike McCarthy. The Cowboys matched their 12–5 record from the previous two seasons and won the NFC East division for the first time since the 2021 season and the second time in three seasons. They would end up in a three-way tie with the San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions for first place in the NFC. They would lose the tiebreaker to the 49ers; however, they would win the tiebreaker over the Lions, giving them the second seed in the playoffs. Although the Cowboys lost to the Buffalo Bills in Week 15, they clinched their third straight playoff berth prior to taking the field when the Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers, respectively. This marked the Cowboys' first run of three consecutive postseason appearances since appearing in six straight from 1991 t ...

2023 Seattle Seahawks Season
The 2023 season was the Seattle Seahawks' 48th in the National Football League (NFL) and their 14th and final season under the head coach/general manager tandem of Pete Carroll and John Schneider. The Seahawks matched their 9–8 record from the previous year, but unlike 2022, it was not enough to qualify for the playoffs as the Los Angeles Rams managed to steal the 2nd place spot in the division. They finished in a three-way tie with the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints for the last Wild Card spot, which the Packers claimed via tiebreaker. Despite a 6–3 start, key injuries to Geno Smith, Kenneth Walker III, DK Metcalf, and Devon Witherspoon, sent the Seahawks into a four-game skid, with every loss coming against NFC playoff teams. In total, Seattle played 11 games and went 3–8 against teams that finished with a winning record (Cincinnati being the only one that missed the postseason), culminating in a collapse that cost them an appearance in the postseason. This was ...

They improved on their 9–8 record from last year after a 40–33 victory over the Green Bay Packers in Week 12. With a 48–22 road win over the division rival New York Giants in Week 14, the Eagles clinched their second straight playoff berth, and their fifth in six seasons. After a 25–20 road win over the Chicago Bears in Week 15, the Eagles matched their franchise-best 13–1 start in the 2004 season and secured their third 13-win season win in franchise history, after 2004 and 2017. They will attempt to improve upon their 4–13 record from the previous year and make the playoffs after a 1 year absence. This was the team's first season since 2013 and 2016, respectively, without safety Jimmie Ward and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo on the roster; Garoppolo signed with the Las Vegas Raiders on March 17, while Ward signed with the Houston Texans the following day. The team had a 5–0 start that left them, along with the Philadelphia Eagles, as the last undefeated teams remaining, the 49ers lost to the Cleveland Browns in Week 6, their first of 3 consecutive losses heading into their bye week.
