The 2023 Paris–Tours was the 117th edition of the Paris–Tours road cycling classic. It was held on 8 October 2023 as part of the 2023 UCI ProSeries calendar. Teams 12 of the 18 UCI WorldTeams, seven UCI ProTeams, and four UCI Continental teams made up the 23 teams that participated in the race. , , and were the only teams to not enter a full squad of seven riders. 2023 UCI ProSeries
The 2023 UCI ProSeries is the fourth season of the UCI ProSeries, the second tier road bicycle racing, road cycling tour, below the UCI World Tour, but above the various regional UCI Continental Circuits. Edward Theuns
Edward Theuns (born 30 April 1991) is a Belgian racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He rode for his national team at the 2014 UCI Road World Championships. Career Theuns made his debut for in 2014. He took his first victory in August 2014 in the Grote Prijs Stad Zottegem. In 2015, he began his season with four top-ten finishes at the Étoile de Bessèges, finishing fifth overall and winning the points classification. He took his second career win in March 2015 with victory in the Ronde van Drenthe. In August 2015 it was announced that Theuns would join for the 2016 season. Arnaud Démare
Arnaud Démare (born 26 August 1991) is a professional road racing cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . In 2011 he won the UCI World Under-23 Road Race Championships, and in 2016 he won the Milan–San Remo. He is one of five riders to have won the French National Road Race Championships three times, having won the race in 2014, 2017 and 2020. Christophe Laporte (born 11 December 1992 in La Seyne-sur-Mer) is a French cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Laporte was a member of from 2014 to 2021. He was named in the Team Cofidis start list for the Tour de France for seven consecutive years between 2015 and 2021, completing all but one of them. In 2022 he joined Jumbo-Visma, among the most powerful teams in cycling, and in his first major stage race with the team led the podium sweep with Primož Roglič and Wout Van Aert on stage 1 of Paris–Nice. Joris Delbove (born 15 July 2000), is a French cyclist who currently rides for UCI Continental team . Career From Aube, Delbove rode as an amateur for SCO Dijon. He has competed in cyclo cross as well as road race cycling. He had a top ten finish in the general classification at the 2021 Tour de l'Avenir. He finished as runner-up at the 2021 and 2022 French National Cyclo-cross Championships U23 races. Paris–Tours is a French one-day classic road cycling race held every October from the outskirts of Paris to the cathedral city of Tours. It is a predominantly flat course through the Chevreuse and Loire valleys; the highest point is 200 m, at Le Gault-du-Perche. It is known as a "Sprinters' Classic" because it frequently ends in a bunch sprint at the finish, in Tours. For several decades the race arrived on the 2.7 km long Avenue de Grammont, one of cycling's best-known finishing straits, particularly renowned among sprinters. Since 2011 the finish was moved to a different location because a new tram line was built on the Avenue de Grammont. History Paris–Tours was first run for amateurs in 1896, making it one of the oldest cycling races in the world.
