2023 Pakistan Super League Players Draft
The player draft for the 2023 Pakistan Super League was held on 15 December 2022. Before the draft teams were allowed to retain a maximum of eight players and make transfers. Background Ramiz Raja had hinted that the draft would be replaced by an auction, but the format was retained. The PCB announced that Lahore Qalandars will have the first pick. Each team had the right to exercise one wildcard pick. 2023 Pakistan Super League (also known as PSL 8 or, for sponsorship reasons, HBL PSL 2023) is the on-going eighth season of the Pakistan Super League, a franchise Twenty20 cricket league which was established by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in 2015. Then PCB chairman Ramiz Raja had hinted at an auction based system to replace the draft for the 2023 season but a draft was retained. The draft for the tournament was held on 15 December in Karachi. A total of 36 foreign players were picked alongside local players. The tournament was played between 13 February to 19 March 2023. Squads In November 2022, the retained player's list was announced. Squads for the tournament were finalized on 15 December with the final draft. Venues The Pakistan Cricket Board announced plans to hold matches in Multan, Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi during the 2023 season. Lahore and Karachi were only the venues in 2022. Mohammad Wasim Wazir (Urdu, ; born 25 August 2001) also known as Wasim Jr. is a Pakistani cricketer. He plays for Islamabad United in Pakistan Super League. Early life He was born into a Pashtun family in North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where he began to play tape-ball cricket. Faheem Ashraf ( ur, ; born 16 January 1994) is a Pakistani international cricketer who represents the national side and plays first-class cricket for Habib Bank Limited.
