2023 National Premier Leagues
The 2023 National Premier Leagues is the eleventh season of the Australian National Premier Leagues football competition. The league competition is being played by eight separate state and territory member federations. The divisions are ACT, NSW, Northern NSW, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia. The winners of each respective divisional league will compete in a finals series tournament at season end, culminating in a Grand Final. League Tables Australian Capital Territory New South Wales Football NSW have re-organised the leagues for the 2023 season, reducing the number of leagues from four to three while increasing their size to 16 teams. In the prior season there was no relegation, with four teams promoted from League One to the NPL competition. National Premier Leagues
The National Premier Leagues (NPL) is a national association football competition in Australia which acts as the second tier of the sport in the country below the A-League. The NPL consists of the highest level state league in each state-based federation within Australia. In total the NPL is contested by clubs from eight divisions; these are ACT, NSW, Northern NSW, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia. Monaro Panthers FC (formerly known as Inter Monaro SC) is an Australian association football club based in the city of Queanbeyan, New South Wales. The club was founded in 1967, and currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Capital Football in the Australian Capital Territory. Lake Macquarie City FC
Lake Macquarie City FC is a football club in Lake Macquarie, New South Wales. The club was formed in 1912 formed by a group of Scottish miners in the area. History Lake Macquarie City Football Club is one of the oldest running football clubs in the Northern NSW region. The club has a strong history and reputation of developing, fostering and producing local players. Throughout its history, the club has been lucky enough to host a number of high-profile matches including Australian National Team games and a friendly game against Tottenham Hotspur FC. Historically LMCFC home kit is Yellow shirt, blue shorts and white socks. Similar to that of the Brazil national team. Recent times have seen the white socks replaced by yellow socks for reasons unknown. Some supporters have been calling for a return to the original white socks. Lambton Jaffas Football Club is an Australian soccer club based in Lambton a suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales. They compete in the National Premier Leagues Northern NSW, the highest division of the New South Wales Football Leagues. History Lambton Jaffas started off as the senior team of ''Lambton Soccer Club'' which was established in 1957. The club prospered during the 1960s, with the clubs first All Age side being established in 1968. In 1969, the club was invited to participate in the 2nd Division Competition by the Northern NSW Soccer Federation, to replace Dudley Redhead. The club played under the name of ''Dudley Lambton'' that year to fulfill the Federation's obligations to the English Soccer Pools. Edgeworth FC
Edgeworth Football Club is an Australian semi-professional football club based in the suburb of Edgeworth, near Newcastle, New South Wales. The club currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Northern NSW. History The suburb of Edgeworth was known as Young Wallsend until 1960. The first recorded football match involving a Young Wallsend team took place on 14 May 1892, when Minmi Rangers defeated Young Wallsend 3–0 at the Young Wallsend ground. For most of the 20th century a lower-league club, Edgeworth won promotion into the Northern New South Wales 1st Division in 1973. Edgeworth made the 1st Division grand final in 1977, only to be defeated 1-0 by Weston. Cooks Hill United FC is a semi-professional football club based in Cooks Hill in the Hunter Region, New South Wales. Cooks Hill United FC currently competes in the Northern NSW Football National Premier Leagues Northern NSW competition. Charlestown Azzurri FC
Charlestown Azzurri FC (formerly Charlestown City Blues FC) is an Australian soccer club based in Whitebridge, a suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales. The club currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Northern NSW (NPL NNSW). History Charlestown United was founded in 1900, while Hamilton Azzurri was founded in 1963 which later became Highfields Azzurri during the 1970s. In 2006, Highfields Azzurri became Azzurri FC. In 2009, Football Federation Australia forced Azzurri to change its name. After the 2009 season, the club became Charlestown City Blues FC, when Azzurri FC and Charlestown United merged.
