2023 Myanmar National League
The 2023 Myanmar National League was the fourteenth season of first-division domestic football in Myanmar. It consisted of twelve teams, as two teams from the 2022 MNL-2 were promoted. Shan United were the defending champions after winning their third consecutive title in the 2022 season. MNL rules It has been decided that the 2023 Myanmar National League will be played from the third week of February to the last week of October. The matches are set to be played at Thuwunna Stadium and Yangon United Sports Complex. In the registration rules it has also been decided that some young players should be in the final registration list for the success of the Myanmar U-23 team in the SEA Games. Myanmar National League
The MPT Myanmar National League ( my, မြန်မာ နေရှင်နယ် လိဂ်; abbreviated MNL) is the premier national professional football league of Myanmar. In 2009, the league replaced the Myanmar Premier League, which consisted only of 14 Yangon-based football clubs, with eight professional clubs representing different regions across the nation. On 16 May 2009, the league launched its inaugural two-month tournament, the Myanmar National League Cup 2009 in preparation for the first full season in 2010. Despite its national ambitions, the league held the MNL Cup 2009 matches in the country's two main stadiums in Yangon due to the lack of adequate facilities elsewhere. On 5 July 2009, Yadanabon FC defeated Yangon United FC in the MNL Cup final to become the first-ever MNL Champions. José Adolfo Valencia Arrechea (born 18 December 1991) is a Colombian footballer who plays as a forward for Myanmar National League club Yangon United. Career Club Valencia began his career with Santa Fe, also spending time on loan in 2008 with Juventud Soacha. After making ten appearances and scoring five goals for Juventud Soacha, Valencia returned to Santa Fe. In 2009, he was a member of the squad that captured the Copa Colombia. Valencia signed on loan with Portland Timbers of Major League Soccer on 15 December 2011. He was signed as Portland's second designated player under the new Young DP rule. Ayeyarwady Region ( my, ဧရာဝတီတိုင်းဒေသကြီး , , ; formerly Ayeyarwady Division and Irrawaddy Division), is a region of Myanmar, occupying the delta region of the Ayeyarwady River (Irrawaddy River). Yan Naing Oo ( my, ရန်နိုင်ဦး; born 31 March 1996) is a Burmese footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or a winger for the Myanmar U-19 football team and Shan United. Hein Thiha Zaw
Hein Thiha Zaw ( my, ဟိန်းသီဟဇော် born 1 August 1995) is a footballer from Burma, and plays as a defender for Ayeyawady United. On 13 April in an 2013 AFC Cup game against SHB Đà Nẵng Hein conceded a last minute penalty and was red carded in the last minute of the game. Nguyễn Minh Phương scored the penalty kick to wing the game 3–2. Hein's teammate Phyo Ko Ko Thein was also sent off minutes earlier in the same game.
