2023 Monza Formula 3 Round
The 2023 Monza Formula 3 round was a motor racing event held between 1 and 3 September at the Monza Circuit. It was the final race of the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship and was held in support of the 2023 Italian Grand Prix. Heading into the final round with a 38-point-margin over his nearest rivals Paul Aron and Pepe Martí, Gabriel Bortoleto was crowned the 2023 Drivers' Champion after qualifying on Friday as Aron and Martí both failed to score pole position in order two secure two vital points for their respective championship hopes. Bortoleto became the next series' champion as a rookie since Oscar Piastri in 2020. Monza Circuit
The Monza Circuit ( it, Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, , National Automobile Racetrack of Monza) is a race track near the city of Monza, north of Milan, in Italy. Built in 1922, it was the world's third purpose-built motor racing circuit after Brooklands and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis and the oldest in mainland Europe. Oscar Piastri (born 6 April 2001) is an Australian racing driver who previously served as the reserve driver for Alpine F1 Team, having previously been in the team's driver academy. He won the 2019 Formula Renault Eurocup with R-ace GP, and won the 2020 FIA Formula 3 Championship and 2021 Formula 2 Championship with Prema Racing. Campos Racing is a Spanish motor racing team, founded by former Formula One driver Adrián Campos. The team has been successful in Formula Three and the GP2 Series. History After retiring from racing, Campos formed his own team at the end of 1997, under the name Campos Motorsport. FIA Formula 3 Championship
The FIA Formula 3 Championship is a third-tier international single-seater racing championship and organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The championship launched in 2019 as a feeder series for the FIA Formula 1 World Championship and FIA Formula 2 Championships. It was the result of a merger between two third-tier single-seater racing championships, the GP3 Series and the FIA Formula 3 European Championship as it was announced on 10 March 2018. The championship is part of the FIA Global Pathway consolidation project plan.
