2023 Montenegrin Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Montenegro on 11 June 2023. Parliament of Montenegro, Parliament had been dissolved by President of Montenegro, President Milo Đukanović just three days before the 2023 Montenegrin presidential election, 2023 presidential elections were held, in which he lost to Europe Now! candidate Jakov Milatović. Europe Now! emerged as the largest party in Parliament, winning 24 of the 81 seats. The Together! alliance led by the Democratic Party of Socialists of Montenegro, Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) finished second with 21 seats, the first time the DPS failed to win most seats since the introduction of multi-party politics in 1990. Voter turnout was 56%, the lowest turnout since 1990. Parliament Of Montenegro
The Parliament of Montenegro ( cg, Скупштина Црне Горе, Skupština Crne Gore) is the unicameral legislature of Montenegro. The Parliament currently has 81 members, with each member elected to a four-year term. Following the 2006 independence referendum, the Parliament declared and ratified the independence of Montenegro on 3 June 2006. Members of the house are elected using proportional representation. History The Parliament of Montenegro was initially established by the Constitution of the Principality of Montenegro in 1905 and was called the Popular Assembly (''Narodna skupština''). It had a limited legislative role, limited by the authority of the Knjaz (Prince). The first parliament was constituted in 1906. Vladimir Joković (Serbian Cyrillic: Владимир Јоковић; born 2 January 1967) is a Montenegrin politician, sports administrator and former karateka serving as the deputy prime minister of Montenegro and the minister of agriculture, forestry and water management since 28 April 2022. He is the current leader of the Socialist People's Party (SNP), since August 2017, and served as the member of the Parliament of Montenegro, elected from the For the Future of Montenegro (ZBCG) common electoral list, at the 2020 parliamentary election. Bosniak Party
The Bosniak Party ( bs, Bošnjačka stranka, Cyrillic: Бошњачка странка, abbr. BS) is a conservative and pro-European political party of the Bosniak minority in Montenegro. New Democratic Force (Montenegro)
New Democratic Force ( cnr, Nova demokratska snaga, sq, Forca e Re Demokratike) is a political party of the Albanian minority in Montenegro. The party was founded on 22 October 2005 as a local minority party representing the Albanian population in Ulcinj. Nazif Cungu was elected as its president at the founding assembly. Nik Gjeloshaj
Nik Đeljošaj ( cyrl, Ник Ђелошај, sq, Nik Gjeloshaj; born 12 November 1979) is a Montenegrin politician of Albanian descent. He has been serving as the Mayor of Tuzi since 23 March 2019. Biography He is the leader of Albanian Alternative. In the 2020 Montenegrin parliamentary election, he was the ballot carrier of the Albanian List, an minority politics coalition, formed by New Democratic Force (FORCA), the Albanian Alternative (AA), Albanian Coalition Perspective (AKP) and the Democratic League of Albanians (DSA).
