2023 Minnesota Lynx Season
The 2023 Minnesota Lynx season was the 25th season for the Minnesota Lynx of the Women's National Basketball Association, and the fourteenth season under head coach Cheryl Reeve. Reeve signed a multi-year contract extension to return as Head Coach in November, while also moving from General Manager to President of Basketball Operations. On December 13, 2022, the Lynx announced Clare Duwelius as the fourth General Manager in franchise history. The Lynx earned the second overall pick through the 2023 WNBA Draft Lottery. They went into the lottery selection holding the fourth best odds to get the first overall pick, but still moved up two selections. On November 22, 2022, Natalie Achonwa announced her pregnancy via Instagram. WNBA Western Conference
The Western Conference of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is made up of six teams. From the league's second season in 1998 through 2015, the WNBA operated separate playoff brackets for its Eastern and Western Conferences. Each conference's playoff was divided into two playoff rounds, the Conference Semi-Finals and the Conference Finals, with the Conference Finals winners receiving Conference Championships and advancing to the WNBA Finals to determine the WNBA champion. In the final years of this playoff scheme, all in-conference playoff series were best-of-three. Since 2016, the league has abandoned separate conference playoffs in favor of a single league-wide playoff bracket. 2023 Seattle Storm Season
The 2023 Seattle Storm season was the franchise's 24th season in the Women's National Basketball Association, and the second full season under head coach Noelle Quinn. Quinn took over in May of the 2021 season. Seattle started the season slowly, losing all three of their games in May and their first game in June. They would go on to win three more games in June, but would lose seven more to finish the month with a 4–8 record. The team lost their first eight games in July, and combined with two losses to end June, the Storm were on a ten game losing streak. However, they ended the streak with two wins to end July with a 2–8 record. Their reversal of fortunes continued into August as they won three of their first five games in the month. Bridget Carleton
Bridget Carleton (born May 22, 1997) is a Canadian professional basketball player for the Minnesota Lynx of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She played college basketball for the Iowa State Cyclones and competed internationally with the Canada national team. She participated at the 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup. Taylor Soule (born January 5, 2000) is an American professional basketball player who played for the Minnesota Lynx and Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was drafted in the third round of the 2023 WNBA Draft by the Lynx. She played college basketball at Boston College and Virginia Tech. Breanna Beal (born November 8, 2000) is an American basketball player. She played college basketball at South Carolina Gamecocks of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Early life and high school career Beal was born on November 8, 2000, to Kevin Beal and Nicole Adamson. Dorka Kata Juhász (born December 18, 1999) is a Hungarian professional basketball player who plays for the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA. She played college basketball at Ohio State and UConn. Diamond Miller (born February 11, 2001) is an American professional basketball player for the Minnesota Lynx of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).
