2023 Little League World Series
The 2023 Little League World Series was a youth baseball tournament taking place from August 16 to August 27 at the Little League Baseball, Little League headquarters complex in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Ten teams from the United States and ten teams from other countries are competing in the 76th edition of the Little League World Series (LLWS). El Segundo ( , ; ) is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. Located on Santa Monica Bay, it was incorporated on January 18, 1917, and is part of the South Bay Cities Council of Governments. Little League World Series In Australia
The Australia Region of Little League Baseball is a region designated for the Little League World Series. The division was founded in 2013 when Little League officially separated Australia from the Asia-Pacific region. This followed a period of explosive growth in youth baseball in the country; the first Little League-affiliated leagues in Australia were only established in 2007, but within five years, nearly 400 Little Leagues were operating, making Australia the largest country outside North America in Little League participation. In the Little League World Series in 2013, a team from Perth, Western Australia qualified to represent Australia in its debut as a country. The team failed to win any of its three games at the LLWS. Little League World Series In Europe
Europe first participated in the Little League World Series in . Teams from Europe were given a berth in the LLWS each year between 1960 and 2000 (with the exception of the temporary ban of international teams in ). In 2001, the region was split into two co-terminus regions: Europe (later EMEA) Region and Transatlantic Region. The Europe Region comprised mostly native European teams while the Transatlantic Region comprised mostly American expatriates. This distinction was eliminated in 2008; from 2008 to 2012, teams made up of either native Europeans or American expatriates were eligible to qualify from the Europe Region.
