2023 Lithuanian Football Cup
The 2023 Lithuanian Football Cup, for sponsorship reasons also called lt, Hegelmann LFF Taurė was a single elimination football tournament in Lithuania. The winners qualified for the 2024–25 UEFA Conference League second qualifying round on a sporting merit (subject to receiving an UEFA licence). TransINVEST won the cup on 1 October 2023 with a 2–1 win over Šiauliai. Draw and match calendar Having had participants numbers limited to the first three tiers for the last two years, this year's tournament was open to clubs from any division. As before, the "B" teams do not participate in the cup competition. The A lyga teams entered the tournament from the second round this year. A total number of participants this year was 48: 10 A lyga clubs, 11 LFF I lyga clubs, 10 LFF II lyga clubs, 13 LFF III lyga clubs and 4 SFL clubs. Futbolo klubas Žalgiris, commonly known as FK Žalgiris, Žalgiris Vilnius or simply Žalgiris, is a Lithuanian professional football club based in Vilnius. Be1 NFA is a football team, which based in Kaunas, Lithuania. History The National Football Academy was established in 2006. In 2012 it was founded for the team, I Lyga. In that season they were in 6th places. After the season heads of NFA decided play in 3rd tier. In 2013 the club competed in II Lyga (3rd tier). After the first half of the season the club was in 3rd position. FK NFA withdrew mid season, their license was taken over by FC Stumbras, who went on to win the first place. The head coach of FC Stumbras was son of the president of LFF (Lithuanian Football Federation). In 2017 FK NFA was re-established again. It played in II Lyga, won the top spot and gained promotion to I Lyga. The season of 2018 was in I Lyga, the second tier of Lithuanian football. The team was promoted to the Lithuanian A Lyga after the 2018 season, when became winners of 1 Lyga. History The city of Panevėžys has a long history of football in Lithuania. Until 2014, the city was represented by 7-time title winners FK Ekranas. FK Banga Gargždai
FK Banga Gargždai is a Lithuanian football club from the city of Gargždai. History FK Banga was founded in 1966. During the period from 1966 to 1990, the club was in the Soviet Lithuanian football championship. From 1990, they played in the Lithuanian championship. From 1994 to 2001, they were in the top tier. After the 2001 A Lyga, they were relegated to the I Lyga. Dainavos Futbolo Klubas Dainava, in short, DFK Dainava, is a Lithuanian football club from Alytus. The club was established in 2016 as a phoenix club after FK Dainava Alytus was dissolved in 2014. History Modern DFK Dainava was established after "Auska" and "Dzūkų tankai" merged in 2016. In 2015 FK Auska were playing in the Pirma lyga.
