2023 Lebanese Super Cup
The 2023 Lebanese Super Cup was the 22nd Lebanese Super Cup, an annual football match played between the winners of the previous season's Lebanese Premier League and the winners of the previous season's Lebanese FA Cup. The match was played at the Fouad Chehab Stadium on 30 July 2023. Nejmeh won their seventh title, defeating Ahed on penalties, following a 0–0 draw after regular time. Match Summary Ahed began the match on the offensive, with Nejmeh's goalkeeper Ali Sabeh saving several efforts, most notably a shot by Lee Erwin in the 15th minute. Three minutes later, successive shots by Mohammad Abu Hasheesh and Erwin were dealt with by Sabeh and defender Kassem El Zein, respectively. In the second half, Nejmeh took control of the game, with Hassan Kourani's free kick effort finishing just above the goal. Nejmeh Sporting Club ( ar, نادي النجمة الرياضي, lit=The Star Sporting Club) is a football club based in Manara, a district in Ras Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the . The club was established in Beirut in 1945, and received its license in 1947. Nejmeh's board is affiliated with the Future Movement and the Hariri family. Historically, the club is second only to their cross-city rivals Ansar in the Lebanese Premier League and the Lebanese FA Cup. Nejmeh, however, lead in Lebanese Elite Cup titles. Zein Al Abdine Ghassan Farran ( ar, زين العابدين غسان فران; born 21 July 1999) is a Lebanese footballer who plays as a forward for club Shabab Sahel, on loan from Ahed, and the Lebanon national team. Walid Shour
Walid Adel Shour ( ar, وليد عادل شور; born 10 June 1996) is a footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Ahed and the Lebanon national team. Starting his senior career at Ahed, he was loaned out to Racing Beirut for one season in 2018. Mohammad Marmour ( ar, مُحَمَّد مَرمُور; born 4 January 1995) is a Syrian footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or a winger for club Ahed and the Syria national team. Mostafa Ali Matar (, ; born 10 September 1995) is a Lebanese footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Saudi club Al-Orobah, on loan from club Ahed, and the Lebanon national team. Nour Nayef Mansour ( ar, نور نايف منصور, ; born 22 October 1989) is a Lebanese footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Ahed and the Lebanon national team.
