The 2023 Holiday Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 27, 2023, at Petco Park in San Diego, California. The 44th annual Holiday Bowl featured the Louisville Cardinals from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and the USC Trojans from the Pac-12 Conference. The game began at approximately 5:00 p.m. PST and was aired on Fox. It was one of the 2023–24 bowl games concluding the 2023 FBS football season. Sponsored by multichannel video programming distributor DirecTV, the game was officially known as the DirecTV Holiday Bowl. Teams Consistent with conference tie-ins, the game featured teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and the Pac-12 Conference. This was the first-ever game between Louisville and USC. Petco Park
Petco Park is a baseball stadium in Downtown San Diego, California. It is the home ballpark of Major League Baseball's San Diego Padres, and has also been used as a venue for concerts, soccer, golf, and rugby. The ballpark is located between Seventh and 10th Avenues south of J Street. The park opened in 2004, replacing Qualcomm Stadium as the home stadium of the Padres. The southern side of the stadium is bounded by San Diego Trolley light rail tracks along the north side of Harbor Drive, which serve the adjacent San Diego Convention Center. 2023 USC Trojans Football Team
The 2023 USC Trojans football team represented the University of Southern California (USC) as a member of the Pac-12 Conference during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. In their second year under head coach Lincoln Riley, the Trojans were preseason picks to win the Pac-12 championship, but compiled a 7–5 record (5–4 against conference opponents) during the regular season. The team began the season by winning six consecutive games but lost five of their final six games, including losses to rivals Notre Dame and UCLA. Jack Plummer
Jack Plummer (born October 21, 1999) is an American football quarterback for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Louisville. Early life Plummer was born on October 21, 1999, in Dubuque, Iowa. He played high school football while attending Gilbert High School in Arizona, where he completed 515 of 888 passes for 6,913 yards and 69 touchdowns to 25 interceptions. He also added 572 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground while also bringing in one reception for 13 yards. The 2019 Holiday Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 27, 2019. Kickoff was at 8:07 p.m. EST (5:07 p.m. local PST). The game was aired on FS1. It was the 42nd edition of the Holiday Bowl, and was one of the 2019–20 bowl games concluding the 2019 FBS football season. This was the third season in which the Holiday Bowl was held at the SDCCU Stadium. The 2023 Florida State Seminoles football team represented Florida State University in the Atlantic Coast Conference during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Seminoles were led by Mike Norvell, in his fourth year as their head coach. The Seminoles played home games at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida.
