2023 Georgia Bulldogs Baseball Team
The 2023 Georgia Bulldogs baseball team represented the University of Georgia in the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Bulldogs played their home games for the 67th season at Foley Field. Previous season The Bulldogs finished 36–23, 15–15 in the SEC to finish in a Tie for 2nd place in the East Division with the Florida Gators. They were invited to play in the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball tournament, they would be placed in the Chapel Hill Super Regional, they would lose to VCU 8–1, then would beat Hofstra 24–1, but would lose the North Carolina by the score of 6–5, that would end their season. Scott Stricklin (baseball)
Scott Stricklin (born February 17, 1972) is an American college baseball coach, the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs baseball team since the start of the 2014 season. Stricklin was the head coach at Kent State from 2005–2013. Before serving as Kent State's head coach, Stricklin played for Kent State from 1991–1993 and played minor league baseball from 1993–1997. He began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant under former Kent State head coach Danny Hall at Georgia Tech from 1998–1999. In 2000–2001, he served as an assistant at Vanderbilt, and he returned to Georgia Tech as an assistant from 2002–2004. Foley Field
Foley Field is a baseball stadium in Athens, Georgia, United States. It is the home field of the University of Georgia Bulldogs college baseball team. The stadium holds 3,291 people. Foley Field was built in 1966. The stadium was renovated in 1990, the same year that the University of Georgia won the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. Since that renovation, Georgia owns a 378–193–1 (.660) record there (through the 2006 season). Foley Field hosted the 1987 Southeastern Conference baseball tournament, won by Mississippi State. More recently, Foley Field has hosted four NCAA regional tournaments in 2001, 2004, 2006, 2008, and in 2018. In all four years, the Bulldogs' baseball team advanced to the College World Series. 2022 VCU Rams Baseball Team
The 2022 VCU Rams baseball team represented Virginia Commonwealth University during the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Rams played their home games at The Diamond as a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. They were led by head coach Shawn Stiffler, in his 10th season at VCU. VCU earned their first 40-win season since 2015, and repeated as Atlantic 10 Tournament champions.
