2023 FedEx Cup Playoffs
The 2023 FedEx Cup Playoffs, the series of three golf tournaments that determined the 2022–23 season champion on the U.S.-based PGA Tour, were played from August 10–27. It included the following three events: * FedEx St. Jude Championship – TPC Southwind, Memphis, Tennessee * BMW Championship – Olympia Fields Country Club, Olympia Fields, Illinois * Tour Championship – East Lake Golf Club, Atlanta, Georgia This was the 17th FedEx Cup playoffs since their inception in 2007. Changes from 2022 The top 70 players on the FedEx Cup regular-season standings qualified for the first playoff event, down from 125; the field of the second event was reduced from 70 to 50. With the PGA Tour reverting to a calendar-based schedule, the Playoffs no longer form the conclusion to the PGA Tour season, but all 70 qualifiers earned an exemption for the 2024 season regardless of results in the fall. 2022–23 PGA Tour
The 2022–23 PGA Tour is the 108th season of the PGA Tour, and the 56th since separating from the PGA of America. The season began on September 15, 2022. The 2023 FedEx Cup Playoffs will begin on August 10, and conclude on August 27, 2023. It is intended that the 2022–23 season will be the final season with the current wraparound format (that started in 2013). The tour plans to return to a traditional calendar-year format starting in 2024. List Of Point Distributions Of The FedEx Cup
The following tables list the point distributions used in the FedEx Cup during the regular season and playoffs, as well as the ''starting score vs par'' element of the FedEx Cup's Tour Championship. Regular point distribution Only golfers who make the first cut for an event will receive points for that event. In case of a two-cut system (used if 78 or more players make the cut after two rounds), the low 70 and ties advance to the final round, and players who do not advance to the fourth round after the second cut receive points. At the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where only 60 players make the cut after three rounds, players in the standings who do not make the cut and are between 61st and 70th (and ties) will also receive points. In case of a tie, point totals are added together and divided among all golfers tied for a particular position at the end of a tournament. Wyndham Championship
The Wyndham Championship is a professional golf tournament in North Carolina on the PGA Tour. It is played annually in Greensboro and was originally the Greater Greensboro Open. History Founded in 1938 as the Greater Greensboro Open, it was usually played in April or May, until a schedule change in 2003 moved it toward the end of the season. At the age of 52, Sam Snead set PGA Tour records in 1965 for his eighth win at an event and as the oldest winner of a tournament; both records still stand. Patrick Cantlay (born March 17, 1992) is an American professional golfer. He had a successful amateur career and was the number one golfer in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for 55 weeks. Lucas Hendley Glover (born November 12, 1979) is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour. He is best known for winning the 2009 U.S. Open.
